Hello, 17 patrons
Added 2020-06-12 14:07:50 +0000 UTCHow are you doing? How are your families? I hope all of you and the people in your lives are healthy. We had a scare this week, but thankfully everyone is ok.
If you are organizing in the midst of this, I encourage all of you to remember to breathe.
Like so many, I suffer from panic attacks. Closing my eyes and breathing deeply and methodically is one of the only tools I can use to relieve the symptoms. It made me think about the act of breathing, our relationship with one another through the interchange of breath, and the impact it has had on the spontaneous movements we witness today.
The breath has been stolen from so many, through violence, that to breathe is not only an act of care, but also a defiant reminder that while we still draw breath, we must use our vitality to fight oppression.
If you are organizing, remember to breathe. Do so in safety, mindful of your surroundings and circumstances, but please breathe. The medium of air around us, unites us in life. What fills my lungs, fills yours, rendering us less discrete than we may think.
Didn't sleep last night, so maybe all of this is just exhausted rambling, but I feel close to the world today. I hope I can direct this feeling to some benefit, whatever it might be.
