Yes Vegetable oils are totally wretched, you should avoid them. I've kinda touched on that in a couple videos, but I suppose I should make a dedicated video

Thanks Peter, I'm aware of the work by these doctors. Actually, one of the first things that sparked my interest in nutrition was watching "Forks Over Knives" several years ago. I became very invested in the vegetarian approach to health. Since then I've come to place little trust in using epidemiology as a *basis* for this or that claim. As a counter point, take a look at Denise Minger's breakdown of The China Study. I can't say I've read the Starch Solution, but I've seen John McDougall point out studies like that of Walter Kempner's that apparently reversed diabetes with a *96% carb diet* consisting of rice, fruit juice and *unlimited sugar*. Due to the competition between glucose and fat oxidation, it's understandable that you could become super efficient at burning glucose and in fact reverse diabetes assuming you have absolutely no fat competition. On that note, Kempner found that even a tablespoon of oil would nullify the beneficial effect of the diet. So, can a plant based high carb diet help fix diabetes? Yes! Does that mean a Low Carb cannot work? Nope, they both work. (This is why I tried to highlight the significance of mixing fat and sugar in the videos.) Actually, I'm planning to make a video explaining just this as I feel my diabetes series is incomplete without it. Watch Ted Naiman's talk from 18:00 to 25:00 https://youtu.be/Jd8QFD5Ht18?t=1080 I think it's really great that he acknowledges this "Rice Diet Paradox" in his video to give a complete picture. Anyways, thanks for the support and, challenges like these are appreciated. It's always good to discuss "the other side" of things as it betters everyone's understanding :)

Totally on board with all your videos on sugar and fat etc, but I keep seeing information on good / bad oils being a big factor to health (e.g. Deep Nutrition), any chance of a focused video on this? I've notice that vegetable oil is in ALOT of manufactured food items, I'm wondering whether I should be avoiding them as much as possible! Love your content! Cheers

I would suggest you read "The China Study" by T. Colin Campbell PHD which advocates the exact opposite to the ketogenic diet, i.e. a plant based diet for overall good health. I would be very interested in your view. Two other books I would recommend: "The Starch Solution" by John A McDougall MD, and "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" by Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., MD. I found them very interesting, so much so, I began eating a plant based diet at the beginning of September and feel better for it. Whatever dietary path you choose, I wish you well and will continue to support you on Patreon. 8-)
