Added 2022-05-03 16:00:06 +0000 UTCWith the release of The Batman streaming on HBO Max, we have yet another Batman movie from Warner Brothers and DC Comics that tends to promote “copaganda” - using media to highlight the importance of police via propaganda like Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy did before it. But when it comes to the copaganda in The Batman, it was easily avoidable to focus on once you learn what the police really do in their connection with systemic racism, oppression, capitalism and colonization via white supremacy, and which character in The Batman almost helped shine an accurate light on how the police - Gotham included - are rooted in all of it.
