Queen Charlotte E3 - Even Days [Reaction]

OH MY GOD SO MUCH HAPPENED IN THIS EPISODE!!!!

Queen Charlotte E3 - Even Days [Reaction]

But let us say, Lord Danbury died as a extremely happy man after a perfect day. And I'm not sure I want him to be so happy after the way he used his wife the whole time.

did you just said divalar or did i misheard 😆

Lady Danbury doesn't 'respect' her husband in that sense. She doesn't like him at all and obviously holds no romantic affection for him. But, she sympathises with him as a black woman to a black man. She doesn't focus on the injustice of her sex, rather she sees the injustices in the skin colour as something more urgent and as we've seen she later goes on to showing us just how great a woman's mind can be. And I also think Lady Danbury likes to be underestimated as a black person and a woman because then it gives her all the more pleasure when she shocks them.

Speaking as someone whose mother suffered through 15 years of progressively worse dementia, I can identify with George and Charlotte's situation. Seize the day, my friends, for it is all we are guaranteed.

If you like this you should react to My Lady Jane its got similar vibes but is very funny

That part meant so much to me because she didn’t shame him, didn’t tell him that he was being insane, she comforted him in such a scary time for him mentally. This show is so so good with how it treats George’s mental state

Not that it really matters but George’s mother name is Augusta

The part where she tells him I am Venus just breaks me. She knew in that moment he needed her in whatever way even if it doesn’t make sense. She didn’t have to help she could’ve leaved him be. Even the way she told guy at his post that the king is working.

I kinda like that because there is no true way to diagnose someone who has been long dead(speaking as someone who’s super into history). They just made sure to portray him as human + those around him being affected by what he does and I think thats what matters most.

I laughed at the „banana peeler“ joke way more than I should have 🤣🙈

You not uploading the next Queen Charlotte reaction because you’ve been to Drag Con is the perfect reason for me 😍😍😍 how awesome!!! I hope you had the time of your life! I wish I can go one day 🥹

You’re right about the ball feeling “older” than the ones in the other. Bridgerton seasons. And I think that is a very clear parallel to the conversation the older Queen Charlotte had with Brimsley when she asked why her daughters never married. He pointed out that she has been essentially frozen in time because of her husband’s condition, trapped in the past in a time when they were younger and he was still more cognizant of himself and of his relationship with her. We can see that in the way the older Charlotte dresses, which is much more old fashioned compared to the way the others dress in Bridgerton; she still dresses the way she did when she was younger, when she and George were first married. I’ve seen theories floating around online that this is so George can still recognize her, even in his advancing condition, but it could also just be her own way of subconsciously holding tight to a time when things were easier and happier.

Scholars are divided on what mental illnesses King George suffered from, and their theories range from bipolar disorder to schizophrenia to porphyria (a blood disorder that affects the nervous system). Later on, he developed dementia and eventually became blind and deaf before his death. I have also seen others say that, in testing George’s hair, they found out he was suffering from arsenic poisoning, which was used medicinally at the time. In an interview with the actor who plays young George, he said there was a conscious decision to “not diagnose George” so it seems like there’s just a mashup of symptoms portrayed here. Either way, the portrayal is so heartbreaking. As we go through the later episodes, it gets rather terrifying as we see what George goes through. I don’t want to reveal any more than that because of spoilers but the show does a fantastic job portraying just how horrific medical practices were at that time. I will just say that people should have LOTS of tissues for the remainder of the episodes. This show did a real number on me, more than any of the other Bridgerton seasons by far.

"We are...done?" 😆 YES!!!! THANK GOD!!!

Agatha saying how shes never seen her son so happy makes me so teary eyed. Like she loves her son completely, she’s been doing her best to handle the politics since clearly he doesn’t have the mental strength to. As for someone who has hallucinations, not unlike George, its an isolating experience. I can’t imagine having the entire nation relying on you while going through what he did mentally. Also after you are done with the show, you should look into King George(the third). Never gonna fully sympathize with the rich Brits, but I feel for a boy who yearned to be a farmer.
