I adored this film, it had me sobbing by the end. It's now going to become my yearly Christmas movie!

So glad you liked the movie! Also props to you for wearing tinsel the whole time ✨✨✨

I'm so glad I got to see this reaction, (I'm late bc I didn't know how to find it until now) but fun fact Smeerensburg is actually based on a real place called Smeerenburg (they only took out the 's') and it's located in Norway

Kit-Cat

Fun fact: this movie is mostly 2D animation! The only 3D bits is things like the carriages, but even so, they used techniques like lighting and shading to blend the 2D animation and 3D animation together into one cohesive animation! I think that’s quite neat 😁

I agree with what you said about religion. Too many times people are at eachother's throats for petty worldly reasons. Many Christians, myself included sometimes, forget Jesus' teachings. The Lord said "Why do you notice the twig in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye?" Calling out hypocrites for focusing on the perceived wrongs of other people. He also said to the religious leaders of his time: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others." Many Christian people get stuck in what they think they are supposed to be doing and forget the truth that is supposed to be behind the action. Jesus called us to be like him and act out of love, mercy, kindness, and goodwill. We are supposed to spread the good news of his sacrifice, that paid for all the world's sins, out of love and concern for the souls of others. Too many people make it about themselves being holier than thou. Too many people forget the pure love Jesus gave and told us to spread, and instead they act out of hatred. They forget to turn the other cheek like The Lord taught. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” He said, as well, that not all call him 'Lord' will be with him in heaven if they merely claim to have faith, if they merely claim the title of 'Christian', and do not act like it. One's faith in Jesus should inspire acts of love and good works of love, mercy, and goodwill. If those fruits are not produced, it can be said that that faith is dead. Too many have strayed from the path Jesus set before us, but I know there are more good Christians out there than bad, and I pray that those that have forgotten Jesus and the truth of his teachings turn back to him. The call to accept his gift of grace, his sacrifice for our sins, is supposed to be good news. Good news should not be delivered in spite or by hateful hearts. I know your comment on religion was a small part of your reaction, but it stuck with me. I'm sorry if this message got too long and if it's too chunky of a paragraph (patreon on mobile won't let be do line breaks or separate paragraphs in the same comment). Thank you for making this free to watch. This is one of my favorite Christmas movies and I enjoy your videos often. Thank you for your time, and although it's January now: I hope you had a very merry Christmas. Jesus loves you. :)

This is one of my favorite modern xmas movies. I tend to be a fan of older movies, like "It's a wonderful Life" (1946), "White Christmas" (1954), "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (1966), or "A Miracle Of 34th Street" (1934), but of the newer movies this is a fave. I would also recommend "Arthur Christmas", "Elf", "The Santa Clause", "The Man Who Invented Christmas" (only if you know the story of "A Christmas Carol"), and well a whole lot more, lol. Maybe next year??!! :D Love your work!! You have become one of my go to reacters! <3

Simister

just because you kept commenting on the animation, its actually really interesting. this movie is entirely 2d animated but they used special technology and rendering to make it appear more 3d and it gives the film its unique art style! also i knew you were gonna cry, i cry every time.

MountainDreams

I knew you'd cry, it gets me every time too

Bro wanted to get out badly gotta respect the motivation

I actually admired Jesper from the beginning because he showed he was smart and hard working early on, even if it was selfish. He found his own way to Smeerensburg even when his cart broke down, he walked the town and went after people for weeks to get letters, he marked off spots on the map that did and didn’t work, got supplies for the kids to send letters, got an organized system going, stayed up all night delivering things. Like, he was an ass for half the movie but VERY hard working with a fire lit under his ass

Thanks for making this free omggggg

Brilliant reaction. I knew you were going to thirst for Klaus, and that you were going to have great takes on the subject matter of the traditions of hatred. Also, if you were disappointed by Joan’s voice acting, I highly recommend “Emperor’s New Groove”. Yzma is voiced by the late and great Eartha Kitt and she gives this evil diva 110%.

Silvana

Omg thank u for turning subtitles on, i cant hear for nothing 😭😭

slavicandsapphic

YIPPIEEE i love patreon not notifying me for this upload!! /sarcasm Genuinely tho, hope u have a wonderful christmas and im considering this my early Chanukah gift as well LOL Also i do think it is meant to be this thing of Jesper is shown to be selfish so a child that cant communicate with him isn’t helpful But when he realises that he does care, he does feel bad when others are hurt, he realises how to fix it. He makes the step to actually understand Márgu, to know what she desires and what her wishes are. And even without Klaus, makes the attempt to make her said gift. Its not the best and theres for sure criticisms to be had, but I really love the relationship Márgu and Jesper have and think its sometimes misunderstood. Also fun fact, their interactions are based on Márgu’s VA and the director! Similar vibes where both didnt understand each other but had conversations for hours on set :]

I just suggested this on the Moana reaction 2 days ago, so it felt surreal to open YouTube and see you had just watched it. I love this movie, and I know you will too, thanks for the reaction

Daniel Griffin

Literally!! I hate how he brushed her off so quickly - damn privilege pisses me off !!

NNC

Calling us Saami people is okay😊 as much as I like any indigenous people being represented I did not like Jesper just brushing Márgu off like that. Like girl where's the human decency not everyone speaks English🙄 But anyway Buorit juovllat!

Aro

Lizzard Juice

Love!!!! I cried along with you even if this is my millionth time watching this film!

Moners

Congrats on 60k!! You deserve it. I've been following you since you had a little over 7,000 and gosh does time fly by. I've said this before but I actually go back and rewatch some of your reactions so that I can cry along with you all over again. 😂😭❤️

D Cantu

Yess this is one of my top Christmas movies, the only one that sweeps me away with the animation as much as the story. They somehow used 2d animation and made it look 3d (which I still don't really understand) but it's such a marvel and it draws me in every time.

Vernon Ingram

Congratulations on 60k!! Also this is uncanny, I had just lined up Klaus to watch it for the first time tonight! (after I finish the annual rewatch of "The Holiday" 😂

Natacha Pedersen

Thank you so much Ryan 🫶🏼
