Well, I went into this film with the LOWEST of expectations because back in 2016, I did not care for it. WHAT WAS I THINKING!? Back in 2016, I was 19 years old and being the hard young man I thought I was, I believed I was better than Disney/Animated Films. I thought that they were 'just for kids'. I WAS SO WRONG!! I'm so happy that I'm now more open to these films and I have a better appreciation for them because WOW, what have I been missing out on!?
THIS. FILM. WAS. STELLAR. The only part I remembered was her in the storm and leaving the island... so this was basically a first time watch to my surprise. LOL, so ENJOY!!! <3

He does all of this: planting coconuts, raising islands and forcing the sun to stick around to make humans happy so he can feel at home.... buuuut most of the time he makes things worse before they get better. So he's labeled a trickster

2024-12-17 00:44:53 +0000 UTCThe whole movie is gorgeous but my favorite part is the walk to Te Ka at the end. Just so beautifully expressed. Also brings it full circle in that the volcano brings fertile land back once again. It's a really solid folklore fairy tale
