Heartstopper S3 E4 - Journey (Reaction)
Added 2024-10-09 19:21:52 +0000 UTCI think I cried from start to finish in this episode. What a rollercoaster of emotion. This is, by far, the best episode of Heartstopper they have created.
Everyone was sublime, the storytelling was excellent and the stakes felt so real. Having these conversations are tough and I'm glad they didn't shy away from them. It all feels so natural and scary and heartbreaking and I love it.
I talk a lot at the end about my emotions, how I feel etc. but I just wanted to say here that Nick this episode was just on fire. His character growth and his commitment to caring for Charlie is extremely admirable. They both found each other at the right time and I could honestly cry again just thinking about all of this. I am also glad Charlie's mum has grown as a character too. You can see she feels guilt (as she should) and I'm glad she seems to be stepping up for Charlie.
My emotions ran high this episode but I am not ashamed that they did. As you know, I love a cry and I'm not afraid to do so. but damn, this was 40 minutes of pure tears. I need a lie down!

You've mentioned a few times that you're sorry for pausing so much, but I have to say that I sooooo appreciate that you pause. I love hearing your thoughts and reactions, and you do such a good job of not missing anything. I love how much this show means to you and how much you love the characters and I think you have such a beautiful soul. <3 Can't wait for the rest of S3 reactions!

2024-10-12 18:02:38 +0000 UTCI feel this was the best representation of how mental health issues are so difficult to be dealt with either for the person that suffers or the loved ones taking care of them (I have been on both sides of the spectrum). This was a stellar episode, and I love how they showed Charlie's side on how you need to come to terms with the fact that there is an overnight cure for mental disorders and you need to work during and after you have been 'stabilized' (either through therapy or medication or both). Excellent reaction as always Nial, it was a pleasure rewatching the episode with you... Cheers XO

What is so so sad about the party scene with nick crying is, that him and Charlie are supposed to escape the Party to hang out with each other ๐ Thanks for sharing your tears with us. ๐ซ

I probably shouldn't get personal but it was a double whammy for me because on top of Charlie's journey, Nick began his journal on December 17th - the day my wife died. Her name was Susan and supported me for 46 years as Susan supported Charlie.

We both love and know how devastating the song is on its own but nothing could have prepared me for the pain even with a warning, not to mention Nick BAWLING his eyes out on Tao's shoulder. Had to take a break after the episode and come back the day after to finish the season. We were so emotional about this story and then season one premiered and we've watched everyone experience this story knowing where it was going. When everyone was calling it a cutesy show we were like ๐. But yeah, on every reread and watch of this part of the story - I cry for all of the characters.
