Overall, I enjoyed this film but I think the first movie is a touch better. But my God, the animation is GORGEOUS!! 10 years really does make a difference, these animators are TALENTED!!!

2024-09-29 21:35:28 +0000 UTCI’m only 13 minutes in but I wanted to comment that on my first watch, I was hoping to see more growth from Joy. I like these movies because they really lend themselves to have wonderful conversations with kids. My 11 year old suffers from anxiety and I desire to always be good/the best. We were able to talk about how Joy only “keeping the best and tossing the rest” did not serve Riley. We learn and grow from our mistakes but we can’t if we ignore those memories that are unpleasant/uncomfortable. Of course this doesn’t apply to childhood trauma since that needs a lot of support to overcome and forgetting is our mind’s way of protecting us, I am mainly referring to things like what was depicted in the movie.

2024-09-26 02:13:59 +0000 UTCI live with anxiety as well, and since I knew that was one of the new emotions, I think I was pretty prepared for everything with her. For me, it was "Joy, Riley wants you," and the "you feel less joy" parts that got me 😭

2024-09-25 20:34:27 +0000 UTCI have been really excited for this. The only thing I hate is how recently notes have surfaced where the animators were asked to make Riley appear «less gay», due to how they believe the «same sex kiss» in Lightyear, made that movie flopp (which is ridiculus).
