Good Omens S2 E6 (FINALE) - Every Day [Reaction]

Well, after months and months and months, we finally made it to the finale of Good Omens S2. I loved S2 a lot more than the first season and this finale was a joy to behold, even though it broke my heart. Crowley and Azi NEED TO BE TOGETHER GOD DAMMIT!!!

I have no idea what is in store for us in Series 3 but I'm excited to dive into it when it releases!

Thank you all for joining me on this wild ride!

Love you lots,

Niall! xo

Just almost done with this episode so I don't know if you found out. But one of the best movies ever made Dogma, Alan Rickman plays Metatron.

Azi is still holding on to the hope that the system can be fixed whereas Crowley has realized and accepted that the system is working how it’s meant to and just needs to be abandoned. I think because Azi hasn’t felt the betrayal from heaven in the same way as Crowley (falling for just asking questions) it’s a lot harder for him to come to terms with the fact that the place he was always told to be good and right isn’t actually so. And unfortunately in that difficulty he ends up just repeatedly hurting Crowley. Making him feel lesser for being a demon because it’s so ingrained in Azi to think hell/demons are bad and evil. So until he comes to terms with what Heaven really is, I don’t think he can truly accept his feelings for Crowley. (If you can’t tell, I think about this show way too much. I have so much more I could go into lol)

To me, it feels like they've written Aziraphale as dealing with a lot of religious trauma throughout the show, and it's especially visible in the declaration of love & kiss scene. Like you said, he can't accept love when it's offered to him, and it's because of all the baggage he's still carrying around from Heaven. Aziraphale is the queer kid who still goes to church despite being told every week he's not good enough. Crowley is the kid who ditched church as soon as he saw the contradictions. He's long past the point of recognizing that Heaven & Hell are both bad news, and he's truly an independent agent, but Azi is still thinking like an angel. He wants to be an angel, he hasn't really confronted why Heaven does bad things. He wants to be able to bring Crowley back to Heaven and have his (in his mind) best friend and his angelic status together. You can watch his face when the metatron tells him about the second coming. To me, that seems to be the moment Aziraphale finally understands that Heaven is deceitful, dangerous, and harmful. I think S3 will give him a chance to "fall" like Crowley and come to terms with both how he's been used by Heaven and what it means to be himself. Then they will finally be a group of two, like Crowley has wanted from S1.
