Added 2023-12-12 11:15:40 +0000 UTCWell, I finally got round to reacting to this wonderful episode here in Australia. I can only apologise for the quality not being what you're used to. Sadly, there's nothing I can do about that. i tried by darndest to get it all done for you all.
The episode, for me, was everything I could have hoped for and more. Donna has her family, Tennant gets to relax and Ncuti gets to continue on the adventure. What is there not to love? As a huge Series 1-4 fan, I am filled with such joy and happiness!

We are 1000% on the same page about the specials and this one in particular. I loved the pace of it, NPH, the creepy dolls, the CAMP Spice Girls dance sequence, the bi-generation, all the call backs, NCUTI!!!, Ten(nant)/Fourteen’s retirement to family life, like. There was not a single moment I didn’t enjoy. I first watched DW in RTD’s era too; it always felt like my era. And this was the perfect capstone to that 2005-2023 Nuwho, but also a perfect launch to expand the Whoniverse into 2024 and beyond. I am so so excited to see what Ncuti and the new adventures have in store!!

2023-12-12 23:50:55 +0000 UTCI'm very hopeful for the next series after these specials. Was already excited when Ncuti Gatwa was cast but now I really think he's going to be a perfect fit. Plus great to have RTD back. Loved this episode and overall I think they did a great job using the three specials to establish exactly what to expect going forward in terms of tone/writing/style/etc.
