Coraline (2009) Reaction

Now, I have only ever seen Coraline online. Little clips here and there but nothing substantial. All I knew before going in was there's something to do with buttons and that I had to keep my eyes peeled for clues/hints and deeper meanings of things... which turned out to be very helpful!! BUGS BUGS BUGS!!!

I'm really late but fun fact! The author of the Coraline book was told by publishers that it would be too scary for kids. He went home and read it to their own kid, who lied and said they weren't scared (they later admitted they were terrified). But that lie is the reason the book got published and then this movie existed 🙌 Moral of the story.. lying is good sometimes?

2024-07-28 17:41:07 +0000 UTCI watched this movie ALONE when i was 9/10 and i had pretty neglectful parents and so when i watched this for the first time i got so scared and just sobbed and tried to go to my dad and he basically told me away cuz he didn’t wanna deal with me. And i knew that if something like this happened to me id just cry and die and my parents wouldn’t be able to help me if I was in danger. (Which later in life turned out to be true). This movie traumatized me. (I’m now afraid of spiders and claymation and not being believed, but it gets better the more i watch) but i like it now😭🤣
