i had knowledge of king paimon before i watched this film, basic as it was it gave the the same excitement and thrill that paranormal activity did when i was younger and immediately recognised asmodius as the demon the minute we saw the hooves

2024-05-27 14:03:26 +0000 UTCThis just blew my mind! I completely forgot that during the AA meeting, Annie talks about her Mum trying to put demons inside her brother!! That connected the final dots of how this all happened, thank you! I wasn’t far off, I mostly got it in the end 😂

2023-09-02 13:43:36 +0000 UTCI’m so glad you watched this movie. It’s one of my favourite of all time. You were pretty much there at the end. The nan is in a cult that want to bring back king paimen. She worst tried to put it in her son (Anne’s brother) but he killed himself because he got an idea of what was going on. Anne’s farther then starved himself to death. The nan then marries Paimen becoming the queen. As Anne and the nan were not talking when Peter was born, the nan couldn’t do to Peter what she did to Charlie. She did some kind of ritual to put paimen into Charlie’s body either while Charlie was in the womb or seconds after being born. Charlie’s soil was never really alive, it was always paimen inside. However, paimen didn’t know or couldn’t know the cults plan, that’s why he acts like a child still. Paimen is often depicted as a bird like creature, so a bird used to a beak trying to use a humans mouth is where the clucking comes from. Paimen requires both a male host and 3 heads to be reborn. (Based of real literature). Charlie’s body provides the first head (paimen stuck his head out the window). The cult then dug up the nan and saw her head off for the second head. (You can see muddy footprints all around the house through the movie, that’s the cult sneaking around). Once Charlie dies , the blue light (a representation of Paimen) goes to Anne when she is doing models. Paimen possessed Anne at the ritual. Paimen cuts Anne’s head of with a piano string, giving the third head. Paimen then has three heads needed and can go into his male most (Peter). The director has said that the events of the movie were always going to happen, that there characters would never be able to avoid their fate. So the doll house like styling shows how the cult are just playing with them like dolls. Members of the cult include: most the kids that talk to peter, all of Anne’s grief support group, all the kids at the party. There is so much more foreshadowing, metaphors and visual hints in this movie it’s insane. My favourite one is that when we first see peter, his telescope is coverd by a hoodie. Peter is blind to what’s going on around him. When Anne is doing her models at the start, she wears those binoculars. Anne is too focused and had narrow vision , she can’t see what her family are falling into. Halfway through the movie she only uses one binocular and has the other flipped up, she is slowly starting to realise what’s going on. When she finally begins to realise when working on her models before smashing them, she isn’t wearing the binoculars at all, she cna finally see the bigger Picture
