It's at least the second. There was another occasion where she was comparing herself to another cosplayer, and got all depressed about her bust size. Arthur happened to glance at her just as she pulled her top forward to check herself out, had this exact reaction, and Ellie was very chuffed about about it. That's exactly what led to this, in my opinion - she *knew* how he would react, and it's good for her sself-esteem.
