Getting near the end of "Project Dream"
Added 2020-05-27 14:55:09 +0000 UTCHello everyone. I just wanted to give a few updates to what's going on.
First off, thank you to everyone who is helping me keep moving forward with this project and to those I've postponed accepting commission work as outside of Patreon, I don't take payment for commissions until I'm ready to start. Thank you for understanding!
So with that aside. Here's the status:
The main things I've done in the last week on the project have been on the good dream, dialogue, and the last scene.
Scene 1. Done completely. SFX and everything.
Scene 2. Added the final bits of dialogue, I just want to check dialogue placement for a few lines, then I'll be ready to add some motion to those parts. Then physics, SFX, and some minor expression changes and good to go. This is at probably 80% done.
Scene 3. Haven't touched it since last time I posted it. It's practically done though except for SFX.
Scene 4. Haven't touched this one either. Needs a lot more motions and SFX, and dialogue modulation change.
Scene 5. Nightmare is basic movements done. I have one last trick to add in with this, and I need to tweak the portraits of Lindsey.
Scene 6. Done actually, aside from some minor SFX.
Credits: Credits? Who do you think I am? King Nebuchadnezzar? (Rifftrax humor)
Joking aside, I'm just doing a simple credits thing coming up for this and I'm going to add "current" patrons to this, as well as people who have helped influence this in ways to really help it out. I'll post about this once I get closer to the end for organization purposes.
Going back over the good dream part after doing the nightmares, it feels like a transition of "old me" to my newer plans in terms of animation. It starts with just simple and a couple slow inflations and then as it goes on, more complex things start happening as the nightmare kicks in. I'm not against this, but compared to the insanity of the nightmare, I felt yearning for a bit more with it... however... I feel that it's a good build up to the nightmare. It progressively gets more "interesting" as time goes on instead of hitting the viewer with everything at once.
I do not want to make any more content changes to the good dream aside from something to do with the Giantess inflation at the start, due to it's repetition and possible conversion to Raycast... and maybe one small thing near the end of that scene that might be kind-of cute. That should be okay to add something there as the buildup of simple to complex over that time would compensate for having a little extra. Aside from those two spots, I'm putting my foot down and preventing myself from content changes on this scene so I don't ruin the flow.
I should have all the motions compiled together within the next few weeks... and once that's done. I'm going to run the setup by my Patrons one final time and then start attempting to do the Raycast.
So with this Raycast I've narrowed most of the things down to where I can do them. The biggest problem is Scene 2 because of it's size (I mentioned on my Discord server it feels like I'm playing Jenga with that file when I open it due to how large it is, but I do daily backups on it when I make changes). And also in that scene where the viewer pumps giantess (Alpha) Lindsey up.
I have a couple of ideas to attempt this. This requiring me to nearly break the model and limit her movements to make a mode where Raycast will work. This is the primary thing I've been brooding over. However I think that I need to implement a cutaway to do a body swap. I have something creative for it to possibly work. It'll give it some variety since I feel it's kind of a repetitive part of the scene.
Anyway that's all for now. I'll keep posting over time with more information.
Thank you especially to everyone for keeping on going with me on this. Showing works in progress and explaining things is very tiring to some of you viewers, and I appreciate you sticking through this.
In the future, I will be easing up a little or setting up a tag for Works in progress or getting certain people to help me for giant projects like this if I ever do another, so that I don't tire out anyone.
