Kazuma actually popped off even harder, he stopped the caster's spell by using snipe to shatter the crystal in their wand, and after shooting a bit of water into Mitsurugi's mouth, used freeze to solidify it. Not to mention the shit he did beforehand.

2024-05-17 02:15:51 +0000 UTCThat can be chalked up to animation. The novel makes no mention of idle knights aside from when Mitsurugi attempted to fight Kazuma head on. But the knights did become timid after Kazuma defeated Mitsurugi with ease. They were reluctant to charge in recklessly and Kazuma used that opening to break through the line. To be honest, I don't think the anime has once matched the light novels in terms of quality, but nevertheless, I am happy the anime exists. If nothing else, it can introduce new readers.

We've only seen it used against Darkness that has unlimited stamina and aqua that has a goddess's magic, but against a regular Joe it destroys (with the added benefit that it restores kazuma's magic so he can just cast spells indefinitely)

2024-05-16 23:02:59 +0000 UTCHonestly Kazuma would be a far better asset in nation v nation type of boogaloo, his kit is shit-tier vs monsters since it's heavily focused on CC, and monsters have generally evolved to have 1 or 2 or more counters to various elements etc, so shit like pocket sand doesn't work vs monsters that have literal 3rd eyelids to protect from sandstorms etc. and many monsters have resistance or outright immunity to 1 or 2 elements based on their racial type too etc. And of course his shit doesn't rly work vs undead either because they aren't alive and thus are pretty much immune to most status effects except shit like Holy, and blunt damage type I suppose

For one, in his face off against Mitsurugi, he not only used create water, but he also froze his nose and mouth closed. They don't mention this in the anime, but Kazuma also has a skill called Dodge or Auto-evade, which allows him to avoid attacks and it scales off luck. Since Kazuma might be the human with the highest luck in the world, he can very easily evade most attacks (which is why he was untouchable in this fight). It does cost him magic power to use any skill though, but Drain Touch can replenish his magic power so it's rarely an issue. And if you're asking why he didn't do any of that against the kobolds, I couldn't tell you. Sometimes Kazuma is in the zone, and other times he makes a complete fool of himself.

2024-05-16 19:54:38 +0000 UTCkazuma's actually pretty competent. there was cut content from the first season where aqua and the others went with another party and kazuma went with i think one of the guys who told him about the sucubus's party. aqua and friends basically almost got the other party wiped out and kazuma was able to direct the otherparty and they did really well. I think they basically ended up telling kazuma that hes amazing to do as well as he does with those girls. And this time i think vanir's mask had a curse on it that made him much more agressive. i think because kazuma is a jack of all trades it makes him really versitile in a group situation. plus he has good instincts when it comes to direction.
