Writing Log #27 - End of the year!

Wow. Damn. It's almost over! I know we all love assertive women in here, so here's one you haven't seen yet and can look forward to. (And the other one... well, you might have seen her AU version. The only thing she has in common with that one is that she's still a bratty princess. Good for her. 💅)

【 Sanctuary 17223 】

• Volume 1: Well, uh... It came out this month! I still haven't fully realized. (My body, however, definitely has, because it decided that "a little time off" means "getting sick". Getting better as 2026 approaches!)

• Admin work: graphics, website updates, social media posts, stuff like that. It adds up fast. Learning how to use TikTok wasn't on my 2025 bingo card, but here we are. My voice died thanks to the aforementioned sickness, so I wrote down a bunch of ideas for that instead.

• Web novel version: Divided chapter 1 into segments and set up the Tapas page. More on that in January, although y'all can still get the book at no extra cost anyway!

And now? The truth is that these books take me at least multiple months to write and illustrate, and I'm not in a position financially where I can focus on just that. So it's time for more marketing, and 2026 is also the year I wanna tackle physical merch and return to drawing more standalone art and mini comics, especially of Lulu and Alvin being cute. Do look forward to stuff happening even during book downtime :D

【 Witches Must Die (working title I already ditched lol) 】

• Concept: Refined backstories, lore, character profiles, character designs, assorted notes up to volume [redacted] 👍

• Chapter 1 - Scenes 1, 2, 3, 4: First draft completed (7,400 words)

Chapter 1 drops in February-ish, as a preview for the eventual full book. In both German and English, so that's fun. What's also fun is that the first draft of Sanctuary's first chapter was of similar length, written in only two days, and it... needed a lot of revisions. This one took a lot longer in terms of days spent writing, but it'll be good to go for a first beta read after just one round of editing. Must be that German efficiency.

This is the one that the lovely ladies featured on the memes are from! I, uh, can't recommend it if you're only here for cozy vibes, but I CAN recommend it if you like women's wrongs. And, really, a lot of queer and neurodivergent people's wrongs. More on that next year!
