Writing Log #12 - I forgot to add a title and I'm not even gonna pretend otherwise at this point.

I told myself I'd finish the second draft for chapter 2 to make the Book Club gang proud, no matter what. So I did. And passed out right after. Please forgive the one day delay :P

[Life update]

The middle of the month was a bit rough, including a trip to the emergency clinic for Sunny, but he's doing a lot better now (maybe a little TOO good, that little orange menace). In other news, I'm working on commissions again as of today, but I'll dedicate as much time as I possibly can to working on my books.

[The Dollmaker's Toy Collection]

As promised last month, I'm ~officially~ announcing "The Dollmaker's Toy Collection" as the next illustrated light novel I'm working on. This one, as you can probably guess, will focus a lot on objectification as a kink, as well as some eccentricities borrowed from canon Lulu and Alvin. It's gonna be gentle, it's gonna be silly, it's gonna have Lulu in a suit, so I hope everyone will enjoy it!

I sketched the cover this month and wrote 950 words for the first draft. Alvin just met Lulu, and they won't wait too long to get to the point in this one... :P (Unlike the previous book, this one is not a multi-chapter one. It really is more about specific kink exploration than being a full story.)

Originally I wanted this to be a Halloween release, but a lot of things got in the way, so full disclosure, I don't think I can handle that kind of crunch this month. I'll keep you updated!

[Sanctuary 17223]

I'm still recovering from that writing marathon I pulled. Writing 4.4k words in one day (excluding rewrites not reflected in the total word count) was not a physically healthy experience LOL

The word count went from 10,050 to 13,400 for the second draft, which might still need some trimming, but story- and characterization-wise it's a lot more solid now! (I love looking back at old writing logs and reminding myself that of course I edited out some of the lines I posted as excerpts.)

In chapter 2, we've got Lulu exploring the strange research facility 'Sanctuary 17223' and saving her future robot boyfriend Alvin with a good old fashioned reboot. She learns he has no choice but to follow a "User's" orders--which, given her inclinations, isn't exactly a bad thing in her mind, except for the part where he can't really consent to anything. (The 'gentle femdom' part of the story is going to be very subtle, uh huh...)

"Allow me to treat your wounds, if nothing else."

"It's no big deal. I'm fine."

"Please, User Lulu."

It's really not a big deal, but maybe this isn't about me at all. This is the closest I've gotten to Alvin saying he wants to do something. And maybe he has a point; the offense isn't gonna do so well if she won't let the support do his thing.

"Fine," I concede. "Lead the way."

"I wouldn't dare."

My eyelids need to drop halfway before I can find it in me to speak. "I don't know where the medical supplies are, my guy."

I just think their initial communication struggles are very charming. <3

"I heard you're something like a doctor. How 'something like a' are we talking here?" I ask, making a conscious effort to never step on the lines separating each floor tile.

"Are you asking if I'm a 'professional' who is 'licensed' to practice medicine in [USER_COUNTRY]?"

"You know what, that answers my question."

"Always a pleasure to be of service."

Completely normal story about completely normal people (and robot dolls).

Lulu is determined to give Alvin the freedom he deserves, but she's not exactly a roboticist. However, she's played enough mystery/investigation games to be able to come up with something, surely...
