Donut Holes #8
Added 2022-12-08 08:36:52 +0000 UTC"Masako in her High School Years" was the pretty clear winner of the December art poll, so like last month, I went ahead and started working on it a little early!
Honestly, this could be a comic in and of itself. The star baseball player falling in love with one of the school's resident fatasses, and all the drama in-between. It's something I definitely think I'll touch on more in the future, either in the main comic or future Donut Holes strips.
As said in page 13 of the comic, the present school year in Donut Delinquent saw the introduction of new uniforms. These were the old ones. I already drew them once in Lisbeth's flashback on page 53, but this is a clearer look.
I introduced Masako's boyfriend (and present Husband) in the Thanksgiving update, I suppose this is his first "in-universe" appearance. As I said there, he'll get a more proper introduction in Chapter 5.
She's got her hair up, but Maeko is of course my character Monica making her Delinquent debut, joining her brother Mako (Milo.) They have more Japanese names in the Delinquentverse for reasons. She will appear in the present day story, but let's just say she's Book 2 material.

2022-12-08 20:24:39 +0000 UTCTheir families are both major restaurateurs (We already know what the Tachibanas own, and Mako and Maeko's family are franchisees for Burger Bat!) so they've kind of just embraced it because of how hard it would be to stay slim otherwise. I can see them doing that kind of thing during their evening dinner hangouts, even if unintentionally. Whoever pops their belt has to pay the bill lol.

I especially love the little details like Masako's hat being the same one she wore in the Chapter 3 title card as well as one of Maeko's leggings snapping. Also, side note, you're absolutely excellent at drawing slushies/ice cream/shakes. You manage to so accurately depict their texture and appearance it's uncanny, haha.

Masako's a cute young lady, Maeko is no less so and it's quite appealing that they seemingly embrace their titles of 'fattest girls in school'. Just wishful thinking, but considering how gluttonous these two seem to be, can't help wondering if they've ever had a little contest to see who can pop her belt the fastest.
