Donut Delinquent Thanksgiving Update

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone who celebrates enjoys the holiday. For my own part, I'd like to give ya'll a feast of updates and announcements regarding the comic.

The Comic itself, Chugging Along:

Chapter Three is now a little over halfway done at this point, with around 15-20 pages remaining. A few days ago it was only fifteen, but I've had a flash of inspiration for a new scene, one which will likely bump it up to 20. God, by the time I'm done with it Chapter Three will be as long as both chapter 1 and 2 put together.

The rest of the chapter will see an awkward moment between Lisbeth and Leo, a late night dinner between Hana and Masako, and the introduction of a character who can be described as Donut Delinquent's only "real" antagonist. 

Oh, and two stuffing scenes!

Fun! 

While it keeps getting pushed off by the beast that is Chapter 3, I'm quite looking forward to Chapter Four, and have already laid a lot of groundwork! Chapter Four returns us to the school setting, and introduces us to a slew of new characters! Here's just a peek of them:

Satou Takara and Himiko Takara! Kabocha Academy's Gym teacher and his little sister! If the Takara name sounds familiar, it's because Satou is Masako's Husband! 

Mako Mochizuki and Riku Nakai! These two have already appeared before (Though Mako used an older design, something I intend on going back and redrawing, more on that below.) Chapter Four sees them introduced as friends for Leo, dudes outside the family circle he can go to for advice...

These will be the last major characters introduced in the story for a while, I promise lmao. 

Hopefully it won't be as big as Chapter Three...

Potential Insanity:

Lastly, I'd like to announce something I've been working on behind the scenes, something that likely won't see the light of day again until I'm finished with it. 

To get straight to the point, I've slowly but surely been redrawing the entirety of Donut Delinquent Chapter One and Two. I understand some may be looking at me like I'm insane, but I've got a lot of grievances with the first two chapters that prevent me from being satisfied.  This is the jumping off point for all new readers, and I want a solid foundation for this project that will likely be my primary focus for the years to come.

Below is a sample page, something that will hopefully reach what I'm getting at here! (And show ya'll how far along I am...)

1. Leo looks older here, closer to what a 19 year old should. He looks... distressingly young to me in some of the panels in the first couple chapters, and that's something I'd like to rectify. He's taller, a little leaner, and I've warmed up to the idea of putting him in the regular uniform jacket rather than the sweater. 

2. Lisbeth is substantially heavier. I've already mentioned this in the past, but I really regret not making Lisbeth heavier to begin with. She's supposed to be massive, and I feel like I haven't really portrayed that as well as I'd like, especially in the presence of other heavier characters like Ryoko and Masako. 

She will be drawn at this heavier size going forward in all future appearances in the comic as well. While I have no intentions whatsoever of giving Chapter 3 this treatment, Lisbeth will be redrawn at this heavier size for all of her prior appearances in the story, which will be reflected in my usual "Final Draft" edit I post after I finish a chapter. I'll talk about this again next time she appears in Chapter 3.

3. Kabocha Academy has upgraded their uniforms. While it's not as sexy, I've come to the realization that it's... not really tasteful to have every girl's tits bursting out of their uniforms they way they were in Chapter 1. Expect to see closed shirts on Kimi and Krissy too when they get their pages lol. (Hey, it'll make things a lot nicer when they burst out of them!

4. While it's not quite the intention, as I'm relatively satisfied with my art on this comic going back to 2021, I'm glad to see little improvements here and there to the art itself. I've also taken the liberty of punching up the dialogue here and there, so that it sounds a little more interesting even if it conveys the same information. As you can see in the sample page, Leo's dialogue is a lot more swoon-worthy for lovestruck Lisbeth...

All in All, this is something you can ignore if you don't care to read the same comic again but slightly prettier and better written, basically everything story-wise remains the same. 

Donut Delinquent 1.11 will be posted in it's entirety likely sometime Spring/Summer 2023, depending on the free time I have. If I have it my way, it will ideally launch with the Donut Delinquent Webcomic site. I'll likely give ya'll an update on how it's going here and there, but other than maybe another sample page or two, you won't see it again until I'm done with all Forty pages. It's something I intend on only working on when I'm caught up with other things. 

The original version will still be available, of course. It will likely be replaced with 1.11 in all my galleries, but it will be made available in PDF form like IN-FAT-UATION and KACC.
