Bubbly Bouncy Babe

Second girl to get the makeover treatment is Sakura! I've always had a little trouble getting her looking right, and I'm not even completely satisfied with this new version, but I still think this looks so much better than the previous design!

-Better hair is going to be the running theme of these makeovers. I'm of course keeping the general feel of the styles I initially drew them with, just with a few tweaks here and there. Sakura here for instance has better defined bangs.

-You might notice that she's got a little bit more of a poochy tummy now. Still not really fat, but more firmly in the "pudgy" zone. I started to think about it, and came to the realization that the premise of the story wasn't holding up as well as I'd thought. Rachel was hired to help with an obesity epidemic at the school... but with the exception of Lisbeth, the five main girls weren't really "fat," just really thick and curvy. Sakura (and Yui) were the worst offenders in this regard (Kimi at least has her boobs/butt and Hana has a huge butt too) so I gave her a bit more pudge... The main girls (again, excluding Lis) still rank among the smaller girls at the school though, and you'll see the reason for them being chosen for the Curves Club in Chapter 2....

-Made her skirt a little better and realistic, now you can see the side straps of her thong above her skirt rather than the panty below it.

-God, I don't know why but her shoes took forever to look even halfway right. I drew them at least six or seven times before I was satisfied!

-Not related to the design but still about Sakura, I've thought about her backstory a bit more, and why she attends Kabocha Academy. Unlike the other girls, who are spoiled brats because of their rich parents, Sakura is more self-made, having been a pop idol for most of her teen years... She couldn't quite keep up with the behavioral/public image demands however, and was dropped by her agency. Her parents then used a portion of her wealth to enroll her in Kabocha Academy, someplace where they thought she couldn't get herself in more trouble... Unfortunately her parents didn't research the school as much as they should've... ;)
