The Way Forward!

Now that we’ve successfully wrapped up the Pinup Poll, it’s time to explain how I’ll be running things going forward.

First, I’ll go over why I’m axing the Sketch Suggestions and the Pinup Poll:-

Sketch suggestions:-.  There were some really great ideas that came out of the Suggestion pool! I had lots of fun with it, but over time it became stressful to have to constantly switch between lots of characters and properties (sometimes up to 7 different subjects per month!) in order to fulfill them. In a word, it was exhausting for me.

I’d rather direct my energies into smaller, focused projects that I can sink my teeth into, instead of going scattershot with tons of sketches featuring random characters.

Pinup Poll:-The general idea of the pinup poll is good, but the execution was poor. You see, we would go through that whole song-and-dance in order to vote on a single, inconsequential pinup that usually had no context.

Context is very important to me when I’m thinking up ideas! It’s a lot more fun when a pinup relates to a story you’re invested in. Many of the characters that ended up on the poll either had little backstory to speak of, or I wasn’t personally invested in them.

Basically, I was a little bored of pinups that weren’t a part of a larger series where I could expand upon the characters ^_^;;.

With these realizations in mind, we can move forward and improve this situation! The good news is that you can rest assured that your input will definitely still count! Let’s tackle this by first laying out the game plan for the rest of 2021.

October:- Tigress-themed month with hopefully a little animation experiment or two!

November & December:- Lots and lots of reindeer rutting, thanks to Matt’s generous sponsoring of this year’s “Reindeer Games” set along with some Dreamkeepers-themed upgrades for Synariel.

I’m gonna combine these two months to make things a little less stressful for me as the end of the year approaches and we start doing things “the new way”.

I’ve been doing some thinking about Subscribestarand I think the idea of setting a goal just to do something with itthat I’ve been wanting to do anyways is kinda silly, so I’ve removed the “Hypnosis specials” goal and I’ll be making content along those lines anyway and posting it there when I can (I’m hoping at least once per month).

2022 and beyond:-

If humanity manages to survive into 2022, my plan going forward is to work on smaller, more compartmentalized stories and projects featuring my characters.

I’ll work on a 2-month rotation. In the first month, I’ll work almost exclusively on the primary comic (currently Jackals and Batteries). That will yield roughly 4-5 comic pages that will move the story forward.

For the second month (We'll call it the Theme Month),  I’ll compile a set of specific projects for that month that I’d like to complete for you to vote on. Some examples of these project types include:

• -Mini comics (1-3 pages)
• -Vignettes (Image sets)
• -Animation experiments
• -Dakimakura
• -Sticker sets

The purpose of the off month(s) is to give me a chance to rest before diving back into the main story, while also giving me a chance to produce smaller, more focused projects that can be completed from start to finish within a month or two.

This method will allow me to not only draw more of what I really want to draw, but you’ll get to pick which characters I tackle based on the list of choices I present during the poll, which will work just like the old voting system.  I’ll post the poll for the Theme Project in the month prior to the commencement of the project.

That vote, will not decide the contents of a single pinup for a given month, but will instead decide the content and character that will drive the entire month’s content (sans any Upgrades I need to complete).

For example, if you vote for say, a mini-comic featuring Nailah, you will (in theory) get an entire month of nothing but Nailah content!

This may not always be the case, but I’m aiming for it to work that way.

By doing this, I’ll have the freedom to expand on a given character and their personality while also not having the stress of needing to swap between several different properties and/or characters in a single month.

As things go on I’m sure we’ll need to tweak things here and there, but I think this set of changes will mean more interesting and consistent content while still soliciting your input and support during the process.

You’ll see these changes roll out over the next couple of months, and the first “new” vote will more than likely happen in either November or December.

Again, I cannot say it enough: Thank you SO MUCH for your continued support and patience. I simply wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you, and I know you probably haven’t heard it today, so I’ll remind you that YOU’RE AWESOME!

TL:DR:-

The sketch Suggestions and Pinup Poll are done, so we’re gonna be doing more themed stuff going forward using a similar voting system  as we had before, but you’ll be voting for the entire month’s content instead of just a pinup.

Themed months start with Some Tigress Stuff In October, and Reindeer Stuff as we reach the year’s end.
