Also, another thing: every Witch Cult member has their own agenda. But for some reason, it seems their gospels - which are corrupted - are guiding them not only toward their personal goals, but also toward some kind of convergence, commons Witch Cult's goals, the purpose and origin of which we still don't know. They work together even though they mostly despise each other. And about Greed: he met Emilia briefly when she was a little kid, before she was frozen in ice, so this happened a lomg time ago, 100 years ago to be precise. Emilia doesn't remember him for two reasons: the trial is, somehow, like a dream state and she was flooded with memories that were erased by Pandora ; and according to the source material, Regulus has such an ordinary appearance that he wouldn't stand out in a crowd — he's someone who's easy to forget in the world of Re:Zero, appearance-wise. It's funny because he's so full of himself, yet he doesn't look nearly as special as he thinks he is.

The archbishop gospels are corrupted — each one tells its owner's future, but in vague ways and with many things open to interpretation, while the Tome of Wisdom are more objective

Also, he was shocked at what Subaru told him “I’ll make up what you lack” because everyone expects Reinhard to solve everything, in this world everyone thinks Reinhard is perfect in every way. Subaru telling him that he is going to help him surprised him because that’s the first time someone treated him as an equal.
