Added 2024-11-15 07:15:07 +0000 UTCOkay, so we've finally gotten through all the fallout chapters I needed to rewrite and edit. Now it's time to introduce the borderlands fic I've been working on in the background.
The premise of it is a standard reincarnation/take over a pre-existing body with a system. This system will be a hell of a lot more barebones compared to my other two works, so I don't have to waste time tracking shit. It will also give the mc access to all the skill trees, but only later down the line. So when things start the character will be given a choice between three different character skill trees, and of the one he chooses, he will have to fully complete the branch of the skill tree he initially put points into first before gaining the ability to begin filling the next branch.
And only after completing all the skill branches for that skill tree will he be able to acquire a new character skill tree. In addition to all that, the system will feature a badass system similar to the games, minus the whole challenges part of it, because again, I don't want to waste time on tracking stuff. This badass system will basically grant the protagonist one bad ass token for every basic enemy kill and higher amounts of badass tokens for stronger enemies. Each one of these tokens can be spent to increase a specific stat by 0.1% and if he saves ten of them, he can raise a single attribute by 1. Which will all affect a number of different stats upon being raised.
As for the body I have in mind, I think taking over a regular bruiser a month before the original crew of vault hunters show up at Fyrestone sounds pretty interesting.

Also, I'll be putting out another couple of wasteland conqueror chapters and updating the perk list with the perks I've been making in my spare time before I start putting out chapters for the borderlands fic.

Borderlands 3 is pretty terrible overall, so I'm going to use the parts I like from it like the new planets, for instance, and throw out the rest.
