2023-10-03 12:36:35 +0000 UTCI love the US version as I have a huge place in my heart for Chicago and I have always had a celebrity crush on William H Macy. I agree that much of the content is potentially triggering (neglect, abuse, drug addiction, etc) but I find most of the characters endearing and the storyline is riveting and heartbreaking. It will have you laughing your ass off and going through a box of tissues all at once!

Starting with season 2 they try to build off season 1 in a different direction but it’s based on the same stuff. If you enjoyed the British I think you’ll like it.

2023-09-10 02:44:29 +0000 UTCIt definitely has a fan base. It has a good gay plot line but I’ll warn you it’s not a focus of every episode but it’s touched on in the majority of them. Overall it is a very heartfelt show even with the over the top parts

2023-09-10 01:50:11 +0000 UTCI don’t watch it. But if others like it, by all means go ahead. Maybe I’ll try watching an episode to see what I’m missing. In the US, there’s a writers strike so not much new content will be available for a while so I may go back and watch shows I skipped.

2023-09-09 23:13:16 +0000 UTCIt's a huge series. It will take you for ever! I did watch a lot of the episodes on youtube way back in the day and I found it quite a hard watch but the relationship between Ian and Mickey is really compelling. There is a lot of trauma so be prepared!
