Hi Courtney, I have watched this film soooo many times now, but never tire of it and loved your reaction. I bought the book a few weeks ago and read it in 2 days. The film didn’t spoil the book or vice versa and that is a really rare thing. I can only think of Heartstopper and Brideshead Revisited (TV series). I look forward to more reviews. Thank you x

Hi Courtney. Your reaction was brilliant!! I had watched the YouTube edited version multiple times and had to sign up to watch the full video.
I must admit my viewing of the actual film is close to 100 times. I was watching it multiple times a day while recovering from hip replacement surgery. This one ranks high on the charts for the story, the cinematography and most importantly the chemistry between the actors. Nicholas and Taylor were so believable as Henry and Alex that in my 62 years have never seen the likes.
I have read the book. Like you, I did so after seeing the film. There were some things in the book that was better, such as the conspiracy to out Alex to tank Ellen's election bid. Much the same as Hillary Clinton in 2016. Then there were things that were much better in the movie. The love making scene as an example being move passionate, tender and swoony. I actually felt like I was a voyeur watching through a window at their beautiful love making.
Your reaction was spot on for me. It was magnificent.
I will admit that the first time I watched your YouTube version, I thought I recognized you but didn't know where. Then I watched season 1 of Heartstopper again and then it clicked. You were unbelievable in your two spots on bisexuality. I knew you were a person of integrity that is willing to help the LGBTQA + youth in their journey to self realization and actualization. I admire you for that and thank you for being you.
I wish you and your new fiancee all the happiness in life.

Hi Courtney, Thank you for that video. I love your reaction. This is an incredible movie. Last time I wachted a movie so many times was in the 80's. I cried so often because there were so many beautiful, cute and heartbreaking scenes. Please read the book it also fantastic. I had no words to describe my feelings when I watched the movie. I missed some characters from the book. In my opinion they have done a very good job with making the movie. Please excuse my English. Hugs Sandra

I cant wait to hear what you think of the book... Alex's bisexual awakening is much more of a featured part of the story and a fellow bi person it was super relatable...

Nicholas Galatzine's expressiveness is incredible. You feel every emotion he wants to portray and it looks so affordless. The chemistry between the leads is incredible and I think the perfect cast has been found. Some of the book is missing or completely different, so I would have liked a miniseries so that so many important things don't have to be cut. My favourite scene is the hotel scene in New York. The look Henry gives Alex as he walks out the door at the White House is pricelessly good too. The sex scenes are passionate and very tasteful, I wish I could see such scenes more often.

Definitely looking forward to your book reaction. It’s one of my favorite recent novels. The author, who has a cameo as the speechwriter on election night btw, says she wrote it as a “escapist, trauma-soothing, alternate-but-realistic reality” to counter the horrors of 2016. I believe it does that and more.

Loved watching this reaction. I have read the book before and although the book is better because it goes into so much more detail, the film was brilliant. I really enjoyed watching Alex and Henry's relationship grow on screen. Might have to read the book again now!

I really liked the movie. Gay romcoms are rare, and this movie was funny, heartwarming, and had some great romantic scenes. I really enjoyed watching your reaction video, the first movie reaction I've even watched on Patreon. After watching the movie the first time, I listened to the audio book, which I enjoyed very much. Watching the movie first made both the movie and book more enjoyable.

The movie is very good but there are some key Characters and plots left out of the book. The movie only focuses on Alex and Henry. I actually recommend listening to the audiobook its great to hear the characters its just like seeing it in movie form. There are a a deleted scene on You Tube that is very good and if you stay to the very end of the credits there is another end of the great cake scene. You were talking over one of the best lines of the coming out scene when his mom says The B in LQBQT+ is not silent. I can't wait for your follow up video after you read or listen to the book.

I watched the movie first and then I read the book in literally todays there are some differences in the book to the movie but overall, the movie is very good, but I definitely recommend reading the book now because the book goes into so much more detail and there is a big difference with a few things in the book to the movie. I won't say what they are just so that you find out as you read but I loved the book it's definitely better than the movie to me, but I do love the movie as well.

I did the same thing you did, and held off reading the book until I watched the movie (still haven’t gotten to the book yet, by the way). I think that was the right choice because you can enjoy the movie for what it is without any concern for unmet expectations. People who have seen it generally are critical about the things that were left out and wish it had been a series, but it’s also possible that a series, being more expensive, might not have gotten made. I thoroughly enjoyed it as it is, and though I already knew I wanted to read the book, now I want to read it even more. So I get the best of both worlds, enjoying the movie on its own terms, and then having a chance to enjoy the book as well (exactly what I did with “Love, Simon,” by the way). Absolutely enjoyed your reactions, as always.

Loved the reaction and love the movie. It's definitely up there for one of my top 5 queer movies as well. This is going to sound stupid but one of my favorite parts is when they are on the swim platform and Alex says I've been thinking.. and Henry says, I seriously doubt that and then Alex imitates him and says it back. Just cracks me up 😂
