To me, a really important scene in the first season was when Nick meets Imogen in the park and let’s her know “I don’t like you like that”. Clearly, they are and have been friends but that doesn’t mean he’s attracted to her. No straight person is attracted to all other straight people of the opposite sex. Likewise, just because someone is bisexual it does not mean they are attracted to everyone. This seems obvious but is a common misconception.

2022-08-07 17:58:16 +0000 UTCIn defense of Skam, Even is actually pansexual rather than bisexual, and it is implied that his relationship with his girlfriend is already on the skids when the third season begins. So I think that relationship was going to end whether or not Isak came along. But as far as Heartstopper goes, I think you’re absolutely right. Like Randy above, I’m gay rather than bi, and I’m also American rather than British, but I think all the things that makes the show work are exactly the things you mention in this video.

Although I'm gay rather than bi, I've found Heartstoppers really rings true with my own experiences (well, more feelings, rather than actions, since back then I didn't have anyone to interact with) at a boarding school). Does a great job showing the awkwardness of that age.

2022-08-07 12:50:26 +0000 UTCI watched MANY Heartstopper reaction videos, and the reactors who identify as bisexual got deeply emotional when Nick figures out his sexuality. Yes, I think this touched a nerve and has hopefully paved the way for more healthy bi representation!
