IOS App Changes

Patreon is making adjustments to meet Apple’s requirements for the iOS App Store. These changes become affective November 1st:
Apple will be applying their 30% App Store fee to all new memberships purchased in the Patreon iOS app, in addition to anything bought in your Patreon shop.
Any creator currently on first-of-the-month or per-creation billing plans will have to switch over to subscription billing to continue earning in the iOS app, because that’s the only billing type Apple’s in-app purchase system supports.
So, what does this mean for Bearworks and for you?
Bearworks operates on a “per creation” basis. As a result, no one will be able to pledge to a tier on my page through the iOS app going forward.
If you’re on iOS, you can still pledge to a tier on my page through a computer browser (any operating system). This change only impacts pledges made through the iOS app itself.
This only affects new or returning paid patrons. If you’re already a supporter, or a free patron, your pledge and experience remain unchanged.
If you don’t use iOS, this won’t impact you. Keep on as usual!
Rest assured, this change will not affect the content you’re receiving. I’ll keep doing what I love, and you’ll continue to get the same high-quality maps and resources that brought you here in the first place.
