Direction of Maps

I wanted to give you all a little insight into my thoughts at the moment with regards to maps and map themes.

Up to this point I have only produced maps that had major points of interest. I have loved coming up with a story for the location. Adding a little more personality to it as I build. However, that is not always useful to everyone. POIs create interesting centerpieces but lock the map into a specific story or theme, making it niche. 

I have heard this feedback, and I agree. As such I am going to begin cycling between maps that focus on a POI and maps that survey more general locales. I hope this direction is something you see as a positive and benefits your games. These more generic locations will be tied theme wise to some of the POI locations. The idea being the generation of little thematic packs.

To kick this off I am creating some winter wilderness maps to supplement Desolation Point. Hoping to get those out really soon!

Goal Fulfillment

We have four goal rewards to get through.

• A release of my first one-shot
• 3x Monster/Villain/BBEG lair

So after considering this a bit, I think I will be putting the one-shot on the back burner for now and focusing on the monster lairs. I feel like that would be the best use of my time and most useful to all of you. I hope you all feel the same.

We collected votes for the first monster lair, myconid colony, and I will be starting that soon. So look for updates on that via my social media or on discord. I will push out another poll for the next monster after I make some progress on this one. If you have any ideas or reference material let me know, love to hear all your input!
