NEW VIDEO: THE TRUTH ABOUT 3D PRINTING

Hey Friends,

Hope everyone has been having a great week! I've been busy developing all the miniatures for Idols of Torment. There is going to be 72 digital player minis available in addition the the Lost models I've already revealed. This means I've been doing a LOT more 3D printing than usual in the background. I also got a new printer to test out and hopefully improve my process.

I gotta be honest, while I've gotten a lot of value and joy out of printing over the past few years, I've gotten an equal amount of frustration. It's not as hard as some people make it out to be, but it's also not as easy. But I want it to be easy. And I think I've finally gotten myself to that point.

I've been reluctant to give direct advice about 3D printing as I've felt I was still in the learning phase, but I now feel comfortable and confident sharing what I've learned!

Hope you enjoy
Jeremy

I had a really bad experience with Archvillain when back over a year and a half ago. This month's models are pretty dang cool though (I love the desert themes) so I might give them another chance. $14 for one month (gotta get the stats) is acceptable to give them another try.

Great video. But $1400... ouch! And the resin tends to be twice as much. I use an Elegoo Mars Pro and my only real complaint is the build volume - I have to do many prints which means I have to baby sit the printer to print out something large or multiple minis. Quality wise I have no real issue. Unless under a microscope (or maybe zoomed in for a YouTube video), the "flaws" just are not visible to the naked eye, especially after painting. The clean up is a bit of a pain. Personally I am waiting for a build volume of > 230x130x300 mm (double dimensions of my printer) to be under $600. And if they have a cure and wash station that fits the build plate that will be the sweet spot. More than that, I just can't justify the cost. Maybe next year once the prices have dropped a bit.
