Yea, having the lower are mitigates a lot of sight line issues. And the lower you go the more improved it will be. Mine is a 3” drop, when I make my new table I might make it 5” or 6”.

Yeah, I already went through a discussion about 3d'ness and players sight on the forums so I get that, I was interested in how much of it was mitigated by the table being lower in the center. I am looking at making myself a table like that so looking forward to hearing fewer complaints like that when I put terrain out. :)

In several years of gaming its never been a big issue. Sure at certain moments where minis are placed in a certain way they might not be visible to a player. So they simply get their ass outta the seat for a moment and look. I've heard a lot of people have this fear and I don't get it, people can just get up and look. Just like a DM often has to to see things near the DM screen. It honestly adds some excitement to battle to have peoplle getting up.
Also of importance is that I stage things in a way that are conducive to playing and visibility. Notice all the buildings are near the edge, and not in the middle. The majority of battle takes place in an open area, but the terrain adds a lot to the vibe and grants a lot of places for players to use as cover if they want.
And yea, having the lower area helps quite a lot, this is why I built the table like that. When I make a new table I may make that area even lower.

Question, do you have any players that have a difficult time seeing the game board if they sit behind one of the 3d Houses? Or does having it lower like your table does help alleviate this issue?
