Per Creation vs Per Month

Hey guys,

With all your support, this channel has really started to take off.  The equipment upgrades have really improved my workflow, and I've been able to dedicate more time to videos. I've already gone from one video a month to one a week. I am already starting to feel that I may be able to do even more videos, but this would be by diversifying the channel content a bit. I have already started this with the basics series and videos on general topics like minis, but I have other stuff I'd like to do...stuff like a campaign diary that recaps my games and where I talk about how I used my terrain, and community news updates. These are things that would not be "Full episodes" so to speak, and I wouldn't want to "charge" for them. But the reality is that the decision to charge per video and not per month was to ensure I kept up on content, but it is looking like I can maintain more content than pledges per month (as monthly maxes mean most people only pledge for the first video or two in the month). Anyway, I want to really give you guys as much as I can, and I don't want to worry about whether or not a video should qualify as a "charged post". So I am thinking about switching from per video to per month, allowing everyone to just pledge as much or as little per month as they want without worrying about what type of content you are being "charged" for. This would allow me to just output without worry.

What do you guys think? I don't want to make a switch like this without consulting you guys first.

Cheers
Jeremy

I personally always felt that the "per video" figure was very misleading. It does not really accurately represent what a creator is making. As you point out it could be $90, $50 then $20 then $0... not $90 per video - if you are making 4 vids a month that is $160 not $360 as "advertised". I feel monthly shows exactly what is being invested into your channel. I try to reinvest a portion of my Patreon revenue into others such as yourself as you know. Because you are not charging us, we are investing in your channel and the return on investment is the videos you put out and other content - and maybe some free goodies here and there, but the CORE return for us is the content. We love it and are willing to drop a few bucks into it.

I got ya! Personally, I think your content is worth more than I can afford, regardless of the number of videos per month. I don't think anybody wants to see you take a hit, be it monetary or your time, while you figure out what works best. Just the fact you put feelers out on this stuff says a lot... Thanks man!
