I'm still processing this movie, I was so in shock I was like dumbfounded that no way it's not ending like this for the lady and journalist and all the main issue as a whole,

Loved your reaction! This movie is heartbreaking, but as someone who was born and raised in Mexico I think this is something that must be talked about. A few facts about the movie: - The director, Natalia Beristáin, is actually the daughter of the actors playing the mother and the father. She thought that casting her parents would bring more genuineness to a film about a mother looking for her daughter.. - As you guessed, the search group exists in real life and the members shown aren’t actors. - The movie brings awareness to the kidnapping issue in general, but there is a focus on femicides (the killing of women based on their gender) as most of the director’s films bring awareness to discrimination and violence against women. - At 66:15, you asked what the boys were recruited for. They were being recruited by drug cartels. Some of the boys were abducted/killed by the cartels, and some by the corrupt state police working with the cartels.
