There's a fan theory is that Obi-Wan knew about Padme and Anakin the whole time and basically let Anakin get away with it.

The episode "Trespass" was heavily influenced by the 1964 film "Zulu". The Chairman's ranting was partially based on the later apartheid government of South Africa (Among other influences). His actor (Brian George) said that he was very glad that they DIDN'T give him some kind of epiphany or realization before his death, since oftentimes people like that are just blindly prejudice right to the end.
