You're right, there's a lot to unpack in this episode. Season 2 is so good, but this episode really drops a lot on the viewer. Interestingly we're still in book 1 at this point. So if the season 1 ending felt abrupt thats because season one only covers the first half of the first expanse book. One thing they don't really explain well is the chairs that Holden and Miller have been sitting in for days in the infirmary are called "autodocs." The chairs analyze the patients when they put their arms through the arm holes and then dispense all kinds of medications based on what the chair detects the patient might need. The chairs are basically robot doctors. So the chairs kept Millar and Holden alive and got them stable, then days later Naomi gave them the anti cancer meds to prevent any long term illness from the radiation.
