you have no idea how much I can relate to it. I had to be banned from naming my cat "kitty" after I named my cat "bunny", lol. Naming is not my strongest suit haha. And yes!! I loved seeing the depth that the stories went into, and how all of their stories intertwined with each others, it was so amamzing!

I feel like you'll appreciate and relate to this. So when Travis was writing up his backstory, he named his father Stonejaw completely forgetting that he'd made his own surname Strongjaw. So Grog's father is forever immortalized as Stonejaw Strongjaw.
But yeah, I adore Grog's story. Travis is a perfect example of healthy masculinity. Grog is a big tough badass, but he's also the guy who saw a little gnome and couldn't bring himself to hurt him. The guy who isn't afraid to cry or show when he's hurting. But will also bite the head off of a Raven the moment AFTER someone tells "Grog, no!"
I think it's starting to click a little more with you now what DnD CAN be to people. It's all about telling the kind of story you want to tell, having the kind of character journey you want to have, exploring the things you want to explore. Marisha Ray(Keyleth) is a great example to use. Keyleth's backstory is all about needing to complete her aramente so that she can go back home and become The Voice Of The Tempest, the leader of the Air Ashari. That's what the aramente is for. So that's keyleth's backstory. But as far as the character journey that Marisha wanted for keyleth and the type of story she wanted to tell with her was a coming of age story with keyleth's goals being to overcome her awkwardness and naivete and to become the kind of person who COULD lead her people. And you're seeing it play out on screen. Season 1 keyleth was a MESS, but now season 2 keyleth is starting to act with more confidence, starting to believe in herself more.
