Plus if you recall when Luke struck down the image of Darth in the cave, he saw himself which could be an allusion to an even deeper connection between the two. And in both movies they keep on warning Luke about anger. Very integral.

2022-12-16 08:19:37 +0000 UTCThis was delightful, thanks so much Nia! This movie really holds up. Some regard it as the best star wars movie, but really that varies person to person. One bit of trivia I must point out is the rebel pilot who took down the first imperial walker at the battle of Hoth was Wedge, he was Luke's wingman who survived the death star battle. We don't see Wedge die during this battle either. Also, to answer the question of where they are at the end, they are with the rebel fleet, which is staying mobile at this point.
