But while Mirae's parents show up and finally meet Kyungseok, Kyungseok's mom and sister have a long awaited reunion that ends with Mom being hella pissed and going after Kyungseok's dad. We end with sis running away after finding out the truth and Mirae finally finding out how Sua really is once confronted.

On the first day at their job, when the mom offered to give them a ride, Kyung Seok wasn't being jealous of the mom's attention to Mirae. He did not want to ride with the mom in the first place. So he's saying Mirae did not need a ride because if she went, then he would have to go as well. It was just the typical young adult trying to draw the line with his parent to show that he's an "adult" and doesn't need mom. That's why during the ride to work, his mom was tiptoeing around him, making sure she doesn't come across too clingy even though you could tell she was itching to spend time with him, offering to have lunch with them or asking what time they were getting off work. The mom did try to give him space but couldn't stop thinking about him while she was at that cafe with her director friend. So she decided to sneak a look at how they're doing, thus the skulking behind the wall. She did not see the sister right away, so she wasn't hiding because of the sister.

It's because MIIGB filmed live, and they fell behind near the end so they were literally filming the next episode while airing the previous one and therefore had nothing to show. Also, the "oppa" exchange between Kyung Hee/Kyung Seok/Mirae is one of my favorite bits. Mirae sees how sweet DKS is with his sister and says she didn't realize what a good oppa (as in big brother) he was, and he responds "then you should call me oppa (as in boyfriend) too." ICONIQUE, but the subtitles don't have a good way of translating it. Finally, the teary exchange between Kyung Seok and his mom is top-notch. I LOVE NA HYE SUNG AND I WANT HER TO ADOPT ME.

2023-07-09 14:48:42 +0000 UTCI love this episode because grumpy Kyung Seok is fun to watch. I love Eunwoo's expressions. Kyung Seok is such a subtle character that you have to see his eyes and expressions to know what he really thinks. He is bullshit detector and that's why his face is like I don't give a F or you are full of cr@ap whenever Sua says anything. Another thing that I loved is how they highlighted that Kyung Seok was not only a brother to kyung hee but kind of a parent too. In absence of their mom and a moron in name of dad, he took care for her, protected her from adults bullsh!t and that cutting steak or Kyung Hee calling out kyung seok oppa instead appa or eomma when she was in pain says a lot. I was also laughing at parents reaction to Kyung seok especially dad's line - He is so handsome, that's not fair haha. Poor Mi Rae's parents have no idea that calling someone gangnam beauty is demeaning. Mi Rae knows Sua is evil but you have to wait till the next episode if she calls her out or not. I swear Sua just makes me angry. I am so happy that unlike other shows where male leads are dumbs, here ML has a brain.
