It’s great, It’s on Netflix on some regions (I’m not sure if it’s available to you) but hopefully you’ll be able to react to that too! 2023-03-22 06:37:40 +0000 UTCThis episode was such a (sad) rollercoaster ride! But I was right there with y'all, wondering when the heck Miho's powers were going to awaken. I would say that's the biggest flaw of the series: making her powers the crux of the plot and then not letting her have them for so long. I'd rather watch her awaken by episode 3 and slowly get better at them etc, rather than be ineffectual the entire first season. But let's be honest, I came for Cha Eunwoo, and my boy DELIVERED in this drama! His Yohan is so fun yet vulnerable, and he's killing the action scenes (as well as his brother, womp womp). Love your reactions as always - and I totally get your confusion over the fox demon thing, because he really didn't seem like a typical lust demon. And why are they ALL called lust demons, anyway? There are 6 other deadly sins!

Johan couldn’t deliver his brother because an exorcism works both ways, the power of the person doing the exorcim and also the will of a possessed person who wants the demon in him to go away , it’s the famous free will of God, even though he is powerful God never forces anyone against their will. Yohan's brother didn't really want to be delivered from the demon, he believed in Guntan’s word who told him that if he kills the woman he will have peace, that's what he said before die, he has a great suffering to the injustice he has suffered.

I held off watching 7-12 so I can see them along with you. Yohan's story was so heartbreaking. The actor who plays Gungtan is SO good. And I love love love the old lady!

2023-03-19 14:55:49 +0000 UTCWell, told you episode 6 is the best of season 1. Unfortunately, episode 7-10 will be lukewarm and so so as per me. But episode 12 is good again. Yohan is not a normal priest. You will know your answers regarding the girl and gungtan in upcoming episodes. This episode made me cry too. The whole brother story of Yohan and his bro was the highlight for me in season 1 personally. More so because Yohan was introduced as peppy, hip, happy go lucky, cocky and powerful priest but thn you get to know behind his smile, he is hiding pain, then you see his struggle, which makes him 3 dimensional. Miho has a long way to go before she awakens. My issue with drama was that they introduced all awesome elements very late and there are repetitive and looong flashbacks but episode 6 & 12 made me less frustrated hahaa. Actors are the main heroes of Island. All did fab in their roles. Call me bias, but Yohan was/is my fav character.

2023-03-19 06:10:14 +0000 UTCThe fox demon was just a folklore that was said to eat the organs of people. Yohan’s brother was really a lust demon. My guess is he was turned into a demon the same way Gungtan and Van were turned, by injecting demon blood into his body. He wasn’t possessed like the other characters were with that black smoke. That would have been redeemable because it would have just been a possession. Eunwoo’s acting was so good here. I hope it permanently shuts up all his detractors. You’ll see more backstory in the next episodes and will get more answers to your questions.
