What we have been doing

So the Team has finally released our improved version of Dota 10v10, ours is called Dota 12v12. Like Overthrow 2.0, it has several improvements over the original, with plenty more planned. We haven't yet fully imported all the Overthrow improvements into 12v12 yet, such as statistics and patron bonuses, but they will be added in the following week or two. We are also planning some improvements that will be specific to 12v12, such as weather effects, different terrain maps, and perhaps even unique maps with different layouts from original Dota. 

The latest Overthrow map core_quartet has been released for a while now, and after a few weeks of balancing and tweaking, we finally think it's in a finished state.

Recently Valve has released new API that will allow us to detect when players are in parties, this means that now we can mix up the teams to make more balanced games without risking splitting parties up. We plan to add some form of matchmaking to both Overthrow and 12v12.

We are also working on adding some special hero effects for Patreon supporters in game, and also name highlighting. 

If you would like to follow development, and report issues or make suggestions, both Overthrow 2.0 and Dota 12v12 are now fully open source. The development discord is still closed for developers or Devotee tier patrons.
