These days for typed stuff, kanji numerals aren't as common anymore but with this being a series on teaching Japanese, I find it better to stick with the kanji for now -- it's gotta be learned, after all! Plus, you might still find the odd (handwritten) sign or notice that uses kanji for time, phone numbers, prices, etc. And way back when, displaying the time in kanji was the done thing, but unless you're into digging into historical documents, you won't need to worry about that (or learning how to tell the time again -- yep, it was different back then, too -- and there's an app for that, anyway).

2025-07-16 04:01:16 +0000 UTCComputer was having trouble typing 八分 and 九時. Actually, seems to have having trouble turning a lot of times to kanji Think I've also mostly seen roman numbers with 時 and 分. How common is that?
