Chapter 1-3 

Chap 4 The Deal

Sanji was on the sea train, he didn’t know about Luffy’s capture at first, but he managed to sneak on board the sea train before it set off. He left behind a transponder snail to get back in touch with the crew.

The cook made his way through a few cars before he made it to the communication car. He found a tied up Franky and Usopp there. A call to the crew later he was caught up to date. “Oi moss head, let me talk to Luffy.”

“He’s gone...that Lucci bastard took him.”

“He what?!” The blonde gasped. “How could you let that happen?”

“Sanji, it’s not like that, they were strong and they had Robin and Luffy.” Nami interrupted. She could tell Zoro was beating himself up more so than in reason. The navigator filled the cook in on all they knew, how Robin sacrificed herself for them, they didn’t know how Lucci got Luffy, but since he was pretending to be a member of Galley La’s workforce Monkey’s guard was probably down.

“Well what do you want me to do, I not only have to rescue Robin but our captain as well.” At the mention of Luffy, Usopp looked down in shame. The sniper was off the crew, he had no bonds with Robin or Luffy anymore as he saw it. That earned him a kick from Sanji.

Nami wanted him to stay put wait for them. They were following them on Rocketman. “Hey cook…” Zoro came back on. “Give em hell!”

“Zoro!” Nami gasped.

Roronoa was the first mate, with Luffy gone, his orders were absolute. “Aye, I’ll make sure to bring Luffy back, I don’t much like taking orders from you.” He said, but his tone was playful.

Franky was up for a fight, he wanted payback, and wanted to talk to Robin. Usopp said. “I’m not getting involved, this is a problem for the straw hat pirates, nothing to do with me.”

“The hell, did you forget what they did to your Merry?” Franky snapped. “Even if you had a fight, you shouldn’t end your friendship over…” Sanji did kick him, as this was partly if not mostly Franky and his family’s fault. “Why’d you hit me…?”

“Cause I felt like it and you deserved it!” Usopp ended up bailing but asked his “friend Sniper King” to help them out. They moved onto the next car.

“Meat, meat, and more meat, who the hell keeps ordering all this meat and ignoring my precious pasta!” The chef in charge was complaining, about the large order placed by Lucci. He had just returned from delivering it.

Lucci had ordered a lot of meat for Luffy, he brought the food and drink into the first car. “Why are we giving these prisoners food, we should let them starve.” Kalifa said.

Rob whipped around and glared at her. “And do you wanna explain to Spandam how we failed to bring Nico Robin back alive?” That wasn’t the prisoner she was concerned about. She didn’t like that Lucci was showing such favor to Luffy.

He brought in the tray of food and had the guard stand outside. Monkey gave him a look before he huffed and looked away. “Don’t be that way, I brought you food I know you are hungry.”

“I’m not!” Growl! Luffy blushed as his stomach betrayed him. “I said I’m not!”

“You are a bad liar.” Lucci liked that.

“Yeah, and you are a good one. Fooled me completely.” Luffy’s words cut him deeper than any knife.

“It is my job. I managed to complete my mission.”

“Good for you.” Monkey wasn’t happy, everything in his body language screamed “Go away!”.

“But you weren’t part of my mission, I couldn’t leave you behind. Taking you was the only way we could be together. I want to be with you, I didn’t lie about that.” Luffy cast a look to Robin, before looking back at Lucci.

Rob poured Luffy a drink. “You must be thirsty.”

“No thanks...I don’t feel like being drugged again!” Lucci deserved that.

“I’m sorry, I am...this...is all so new for me...I’ve never met anyone that’s made me feel this way...I haven’t been handling it well.” He rubbed the back of his head. This wasn’t easy, he was going against orders bringing Luffy with them like this.”

“You are taking my freedom away, I liked you and you did this to me.” He waved his bound arms. “I don’t think I can forgive you.”

“You don’t understand, I’ve lived my life perfectly to complete this mission. Then...everything changed, you came into my path and like a storm you…” He sighed. “Even if I was to run away, I’m a member of CP9, it’s not a life I can walk away from alive. The thought of putting you in danger was too much. So yes, I acted badly, I took you, but I will give you a great life I swear it.” He bowed his head. “Please...give me a chance to prove to you that I’m a good mate, I can be a good mate!” When he put his mind to it, he could do anything. With a transformed hand he cut the ropes binding Luffy.

Monkey didn’t just punch him, they were on a Sea Train in the middle of a storm. Even if he beat Lucci, there were others and there was no way off this train. As Robin said, they were heading to Enies Lobby, a dangerous place full of marines and agents. He rubbed his wrists.

“You have every right to be angry with me, and I’ll atone for it. I can teach you things, help you get stronger!” Luffy had seen some of their weird moves before. With his influence in Cipher Pol he was sure he could have Luffy’s bounty sealed. His “crimes” were a joke, if not for Monkey calling himself a pirate he wouldn’t be seen as one.

From Lucci’s perspective having the rubber boy with him. He had the freedom to kill and fight as he pleased, he thought what he had was true freedom, so he was offering it to Monkey. “You can be mad at me, I’ll make it up to you, just don’t hate me.”

Luffy didn’t want to hate Lucci, just as he didn’t want to hate Usopp. Robin had also sacrificed herself to save them, to protect him. Lucci had also done something crazy to protect him. He still wanted the guy on his crew, even now. His stomach growled. “Please eat…” He drank from Luffy’s glass to show it was safe. “I don’t wanna hurt you, I promise.”

Monkey eyed him. “You’ll need to start somewhere.” Robin told him.

“Fine, I’ll eat but I want a deal.”

“A deal?” Lucci raised a brow.

“Cross your heart and swear to me, that you will honor this deal.” Such an innocent request, but Lucci obeyed. Crossing his heart over his suit.

“My crew is coming for us, and I still want to save Robin.” Lucci frowned.

“Luffy...are you sure?” Robin asked and he nodded.

“I recently experienced a Davy Back Fight, so let’s make this deal.” Luffy takes Lucci’s hand. “If my crew manages to succeed in taking us back, you come with, and join my crew.”

“But…” The world government had power, a lot of power. With what happened to Who’s-Who they didn’t like leaving loose ends.

“Whatever threats that come we can face them together.” Even Robin was unsure of that. The Buster Call was but only one of the mighty forces the World Government had at their disposal.

Lucci crossed his arms. “If your friends fail to save you?”

“Then...I’m yours, by my word as a pirate I’ll be yours. I won’t run or try to escape.”

“You’re lying!” Lucci backed up and Luffy shook his head.

“I’m a bad liar, and I keep my word.”

“You don’t even know if your crew is alive, Aqua Laguna may have claimed them already.” His years of training was trying to figure this out, trying to think of what angle Luffy was trying to play. There wasn’t one.

“That may be true, but I believe in my crew, and I believe in my mate.” Luffy put a hand over his chest. “I feel it, he’s still alive and he’s coming for me.”

Lucci growled. “I told Zoro that when we met I felt something for him, something I didn’t understand. He helped me understand, it’s why when I met you I understood, and why what you did hurt me so much.” Monkey’s words jabbed him right through the heart. “It must be the same for you, this instinct or desire you feel.”

“You know I can’t make it easy for them, I could hurt them, maybe even kill them!” Luffy fixed him with a glare, and the words felt as empty as a bluff.

“My crew is tough, and before anyone dies I’ll surrender and the game is yours.” Lucci chuckled.

“You’d give up your “freedom” for them?”

“I’d die for my crew, and that means you too.” Lucci blushed. “So, do we have a deal?”

Lucci weighed his options, but his zoan saw no down side of this deal. Either way he’d be with his mate. Rob crossed his heart. “Fine, we have a deal. Now eat!”

Monkey relented and began to eat the food Lucci provided. “Mmm~!”

Rob moved to get a kiss but Luffy stopped him. “You are on time out, no kisses until we make up.”

“I can wait.” He kissed the back of Luffy’s hand and left.

Sanji, Franky, and Sniper King made their way through the cars, kicking a lot of ass. It looked like Sanji had made off with Robin and Luffy, with Franky sacrificing himself to get those two out of harms way and decoupled the cars.

This proved pointless thanks to Kalifa’s spiked whips and Blueno’s Door Door fruit. “Air Door!” He said.

“Damn it!” Sanji cursed. He kicked Blueno and managed to break through his Iron Body.

‘He’s strong…’ The bull looking man thought.

Luffy tried to fight, but he was caught by Lucci. “The game isn’t over that easily.” The rubber man pouted.

Using Moon Walk he pulled Luffy back. Sanji and Usopp were confused. “Luffy?”

“Sorry Sanji, tell Zoro to go all out, it’s gonna work out.” Luffy smiled and Sanji’s eyes widened. Their car was left to drift and be picked up by Rocketman. The message was received.

“That idiot!” Zoro cursed.

“What’s going on?”

“If Luffy didn’t fight and he’s telling me to go all out, it means he’s made a deal.” Zoro put on his headband. “Let’s go save our captain.”
