Nach Wochenlanger Überfahrt, Stürmen und rauer See kommen die Gefährten endlich an einer Küste an. Doch Sie ist nicht sdo Prachtvoll wie die Wikinger es sich gedacht haben. Ein paar wenige Bäume, ein wenig Gras und Felsen. Wo sind die Wälder und Tiere von denen Leif erzählt hat? Die Wikinger beschließen erst einmal an Land zu gehen und das Land zu erkunden.
