In September of 1981, Mercedes unveiled the 2-door C126 coupé model, which was brought to the market under the name SEC. It marked the historic debut of an S-Class-derived coupé variant.

In 1986, Mercedes presented a revised "Second Series" model range, of its S-Class coupe, and together with it came the introduction of the new top of the line engine, the mighty 5.5-litre V8 that came under the badge 560 SEC. This marvel of engineering unleashes an impressive power curve, delivering somewhat smooth yet punchy acceleration and speed.

The key characteristics of a Grand Tourer, luxury, power and style, combined in a magnificent machine known as the Mercedes 560 SEC.

My Work

Starting from an old mod of “560SEC AMG”, I reworked most of the 3D Model, to fit, as much as I could, the original Mercedes 560 SEC from 1988, European version, exterior and interior.

Also reworked the animations, adding new features, to create a more realist and immersive “SIM” experience.

Regarding the skins, there were many colors/combinations available, so I had to choose just a few from the official catalogue.

As for the specs and physics, as always, I adjusted the values to the official stats, and the correspondent performance based on available data (for this model I did not found much…☹).

In the description is a historical brief, along with data specs, for the model, and performance values tested by myself in AC (tsa stands for: tested in Top Speed Area track).

Given that all my mods are designed according to similar criteria and are aligned with matching real performance tests, it should be possible to test them against each other. This approach would enable the observation of performance levels that closely simulate real-world, providing insight into the comparative performance across different models.

As always, there are many things to be improved, particularly on a visual level and some efficiency improvements in the construction of the mod, so it is quite possible that a new version will be released in the near future.
