The Porsche 959 S was a package available to the 959 "Sport" that increased power output to 515 PS (380 kW; 510 bhp) thus resulting in a top speed of 339 km/h (211 mph) as tested by Auto, Motor und Sport at Nardo in 1988.
The “Sport” version, of which only 29 are built, undercuts the weight of the “Komfort” version by 100 kilograms.
Thanks to modified turbochargers, increased boost pressure and adjusted ignition and fuel injection, the engine delivers an additional 65 hp.
