Coming to Conclusion (About leaving webtoon post)

Thank you all for your feedback it helped us so much in coming to this decision. What we've decided to do is rebrand this existing patreon. 

We know It Hurts matters a lot to people but our view of it is so soured due to the constant harassment we've received over the story. We quit tiktok and barely post on instagram due to it, had to close a contact email, and changed our username to avoid it. 

So what we're going to do is try to rebirth it. We're going to proceed with Seaglass and Sandstone. We adore that version of the story and want to give it life. But we plan to call it "It Hurts". This way we can get the story we wanted to tell while possibly changing the aggression around the previous draft.

The next thing we plan to do is leave webtoon. It won't be instantly though as it's the only way we can notify about patreon and grow it haha When we make a living wage we'll pull the plug 100% out of Webtoon. Our new focus and posting venue will be our personal website, zomcomz.com, and Tapas. our website is still a WIP but the pages are readable! We know you've heard this a lot but a lot of creators on Webtoon Canvas used to make a decent living wage, enough to provide crazy extras but with Webtoon taking all the ad rev away it leaves us trying to keep up with their demand with 0$. Webtoon takes all of the ad rev from putting ads on your comic while paying you nothing and because of that we've had to go back to full time freelance work. That's hit our patreon pretty hard but we're going to try to rebuild it while our hands are still useable LOL So please have patience with us ;v; <3

And finally the story we decided to 100% pull from webtoon right now is Sugar Free. Every draft we've posted of Sugar Free we've altered to fit webtoons style. We actually plan to make a video about this on youtube about webtoon vs webcomics and Sugar Free is not a webtoon. We've altered characters, plots, designs, and the story feels very distant. To fix that we went back to the draft we liked originally, Sugar Free Roses, Ritual's plot. We plan to make a manga style of the comic and not post it on Webtoon. Feel free to not read it since we've rebranded this comic a lot due to our webtoon pushes but it made us feel much happier and like the series is ours again.

To put in perspective we were in contact with webtoon editors, with webtoon staff, with social medias for all our comics but sugar free. When we asked about Sugar Free they would tell us to our face "Eh not really interested". Only once did Sugar Free get a push and it was both out of pity and on the only draft we liked. So we got very paranoid and self conscious about the series...

WHAT IS CHANGING ABOUT THIS PATREON

I'm glad you asked. We're going to be changing some tiers around. Early access will be 1 comic page a day for Losers Club and It Hurts (We'll need a week or so of prep time to so to compensate we'll do a lot of extras). Sugar Free's manga chapters be uploaded whenever it's done if anyone wants to see it otherwise it's gonna be on tapas LOL

1$ Bubbly Egg: Will receive just early access. If you're only interested in the comic pages and nothing more that's the tier for you! This includes pages of the new It Hurts for all early access tiers.

3$ Pop Tab: Will receive early access, and all SFW extras. Any SFW comic extras, art, wallpapers, and so on will go there. So if you want extra juice with your comic goodies that's your tier!

5$ Fizzy Cola: Early Access + NSFW/SFW sketches/illustrations. This will also include art from Saint as well as Salem. Saint is the writer/colorist for the comics but also draws nsfw so there may be art style differences.

10$ Rum and Yolk: Comic Early Access, ALL SFW+NSFW content. Comics, animations, illustrations, and so on. Basically everything we post on patreon you get on this tier minus merch.

20$: Zombie Cocktail: Same as Rum and Yolk but you're also part of the mail club and you get exclusive postcards, stickers, keychains, and doodles. This is going to be monthly after our merch gets sent to us more regularly. 

We would like to remove some tiers and lower prices but we cant when people are on the tiers and we dont wanna take access from people (Patreon heavily altered what we can and can't add/change) so we're gonna just change a few things! Nothing major, mostly the 1$ tier (patreon takes 70 cents from it and also charges patrons tax on it so-)

The patreon tiers will also be more regular when we make a living wage again. With Webtoon taking all ad revenue but keeping the ad view revenue to themselves we've had to go full time into freelance work so our comics have taken a major hit. It depresses us but you do what you can LOL
