An update on sales tax/VAT/GST

Hey guys ♥
So Patreon is making a few changes as some new sales tax laws are going into place. I just wanted to give you a heads up on 'em.
Patreon already adds sales tax/VAT/GST to pledges from you guys in most US states and several other countries— basically anywhere that’s required by law.
But they’re now required to start adding tax in a few new places: Canada (other than Quebec where Patreon already charges QST), Thailand, Florida, and Kansas.
So, if you live in one of those places, you will see a small amount of tax added to your pledge starting August 1st for my content.
I know many of you, like myself, dislike the sales tax stuff, I wish I could roll the taxes into the base cost but sadly, Patreon doesn't allow that for some reason.

2021-07-24 15:14:17 +0000 UTCI assume that the sales tax can’t be included in price since its regional, IE no price can universally account for all sales taxes equally. Thats why products in the us with prices printed on them don’t include tax, at least to my understanding.
