So I chatted this guy 'cemec danslegarage' on twitter and he provided screenshots of his conversation with Samuel2000 who allegedly bought and then refunded the channel to TheRealMicaro on accs.market.com. Tho it seems to be just one guy shuffling identities. His account there showed 0 sells. Based on the screen of the channel 'auction' he was offering it for 700$

Not good advice. Better option to start a new channel with better security all around if it comes to that. Torrent is not an appropriate platform for spreading the content of this type. And it's already free, while torrent sites are mostly for pirated stuff. Which is why they constantly get shut down and go up again. All in all, def not a place to rely on. If considering another platform, I would go for Vimeo.

If you pay these assholes anything, they'll just turn around and do it again tomorrow. I would consider just putting the entire movie (when it's done) on some torrent sites for free -- with a donation link, of course.

don't even think about paying a single penny to these disgusting thieves. youtube should either give your channel back or suspend/delete it, preferably the former. no negotiation with heretics.

Had to make a Patreon account to confirm this, but the more reports, the better. Can confirm that Micaro still has control of the Youtube account, just received a YT subscriber email stating "TheRealMicaro is live now: Astartes - Complete Series". I have the message saved if it can be used for evidence. Edit: To confirm, the email link came from and took me directly to the Astartes YT Channel.

Really sorry for what happened to you. I have 2 questions: 1. Should we cancel our subscription to your youtube channel if you are not any more owner? 2. I recently saw a video combining the 4 first Astartes video and at the end it is indicated that astartes 5 will be posted on 25th December, this looks like scam and the video is not anymore available. Why you do not open a new channel (like "Astartes reborn") and ask youtube office to cancel your former channel and send a notice to all subscribers the name of the new channel? I am not specialist, but this will solve the problem fast and clean.

So it wasn't you who released an Astartes supercut 1-4 on stream and announced Episode 5 for the 25th of December? If it wasn't, that's very suspicious. I echo what's been said so far, don't deal with this character and keep calling YouTube. I know it's easy to rage on YouTube/Google, but you have to look at this from their point of view as well - try to provide as many proofs as you can that the channel is yours in first place.

But I don't trust this Alex guy either, his Instagram account looks very fake and ArchWarhammer was contacted via email by someone with neither of those names wanting to 'give' the channel back. Either way I'm not dealing with any underground account transferring.

Therealmicaro guy is the original buyer and was talking in the community page about how he wanted to give the channel back if only he was reimbursed however someone alexandercarson1 bought it off of therealmicaro and states in the community page that he bought it so he could give it back so if the guy wanting to give it to you is named alexandercarson1 then he is in fact the owner of the channel right now and bought the channel specifically to give it back

I had my google account stolen a long time ago, and so I've turned on 2 factor authentication. if I try to sign in from another computer (or after I clear my cookies) it'll ping my phone and I have to say yes its me trying to sign in. In my case I only lost my email access for a bit, and that was annoying enough. I can't imagine how stressed you are. Good luck on this!

Another thing to consider what StringStorm is saying... If you do buy back the channel and actually get it back. It might violate the TOS with youtube about such incidents. Highly suggest you make youtube aware of this as it might help them out with other accounts that might have the same problem going on now. The other option is to exterminatus the channel and start a new one. Although I would HATE to see that happen.

Don't give them anything! D: For one, buying someone else's youtube account is illegal so they're not in the right. If that person is asking to be reimbursed, then he's only got himself to blame for being duped! Besides, who is to say that they will give you your channel back after you've given them the money? Don't reward this thug by giving in. As tempting as an easy solution like that might be, I don't see them returning the channel even if you did. Stick with it for now, and remember you have a lot of support out there beyond what's tied to your channel, not just here but in the 40k community and beyond, people know what astartes is, and it's not the YouTube channel, it's the content you produce with unique skill, style and understanding. That has not been taken, and never will be.

Pretty sure it's a scam. He's already taken advantage of your channel by trying to plug in his old channel to get more subscribers while also trying to get money out of you. He seems either to be a hacker or some unlucky idiot who didn't use his brain to look up if the channel was legit. Most of these people are so desperate for subscribers that they would buy a hacked account for it. Keep trying to get it back from YT or if need be go somewhere else to post your content because YT is taking too long

It sucks that you have to fight the battle, but everyone is with you 100% on this end, so you got this. Put out a bulletin for folks to make a racket, maybe as a public post if you can. I don't trust it. Looked through the Instagram account and all his follows/followers. Not many look like real accounts, and those that do are all in the middle east? His photos look like 4 times paint saved jpegs? Not buying it.

Wouldn't contact them at all, especially since it's dubious whether they even have your account in their possession in the first place. Maybe talk to YT themselves and get some legal advice from third party if you can. But don't buy back what's been taken from you from some fuckin parasites. Stay strong, brother 💪

Explaining it from YouTube's point of view: Verification of a user through their two forms of identification, password and phone, ought to ensure the proper individual is using the account. If a hacker manages to alter these two things, then YouTube cannot determine if it has been stolen. Consider it the case of someone losing his wallet and keys, and then attempts to demonstrate ownership of his car, versus the guy who has the keys and title through means fair or foul. An argument can be made to use a 6 month old password and email or phone number, but YouTube may not be willing to do that.

I already saw this exact same scheme with other hacked channel: hack, then the "new buyer" (of course it was hacker himself) contact rightful owner and tried to "sold" channel "back". Eventually channel was blocked for uploading copyrighted works (hackers won't wait long, they want fast money), so you must act quick.

I definitely believe this is a scam. I wouldn't give them a dime. It blows my mind that YouTube is dragging you through the mud like this. I've seen the situation gain traction on YouTube and Reddit. Also, my YT account is suspended so if anyone was to 'give' my channel back I'd need to create a new account to receive it, which is likely going to look very suspicious from YouTube's point of view, who have the case on their radar but are just taking their damn sweet ass time about it..
