I'm going to create a game on Renpy, but I need your opinion!

I would like to make a visual novel game on Renpy. So, I'm going to work on it slowly in parallel, but I've been wanting to create an interactive experience for a while now.
But I want to get as many people here who follow me involved as possible! So I have a few questions for you!
I'll also try to create little devlogs from time to time to keep you up to date on how things are progressing and also push myself to step it up a notch.
ANYWAY !
I think it's been clear from the various posts I've made since starting this Patreon, but I like to place characters in specific, out-of-the-ordinary worlds. I like to cover a variety of pop culture topics and put my own spin on them.
So my question is this!
If I have to create a specific universe for the visual novel, which universe/topics would you prefer?
Something sci-fi, something simpler from everyday life? Something more horror-based, perhaps? Something more classic in the fantasy genre, like A Semester at Boulcrest, or something like Curse of the Slime? Or maybe the daily life of a Thanagen employee from Patient Zero? Or how about picking from the one-shots, with one in particular in mind? Feel free to brainstorm and throw everything you can think of into the comments! I'll definitely organize a poll once I have enough comments to quantify everything!
First, I try to get a feel for the world building, and then we'll see about the script, etc.

For now, I'm going to do this with surveys. I don't want to get too many people involved before I see if it's feasible. But thank you for the suggestion, I'll keep it in mind for the future! :)

2025-11-09 11:51:22 +0000 UTCHello, thank you for this suggestion. I'd prefer to start by making a short game that takes no more than two or three hours to complete, just to test the waters. I've never made a visual novel before, so I'll see if I like it before creating features that allow you to participate more actively, because who knows, it might turn out to be crap, haha. For the theme, I'll do a little survey on Wednesday with some ideas, I'll make a note of this one ;)

2025-11-05 22:44:28 +0000 UTCI also like World of Darkness, it's dark, and there's a little mystery to it that I like, but it's a really comprehensive lore. If I'm working on an existing lore, I'd like to twist it a bit, and maybe reduce it a little! I don't plan on doing a project that will take two years to produce, but I'd rather work on a simple story with cool branches, even if it means making several games :) I don't know if you see what I mean, but in any case, I really like the idea of a modern universe mixed with werewolves, vampires, Nosferatus, Torreadors, and stuff like that! But I don't think I can hold a candle to productions like Vampire Swansong, etc. haha I'll make a note of it! I love it, I hadn't thought of that!

I recently did a one-shot about a Frankenstein-like doctor who reanimated his assistant in female form to work with him, or an undercover cop who has to change his appearance for the mission, or even a survivor of a bimbo-calypse trying to survive, or anything else ;)
