[Tier 3] SKZ - Maniac (MV + Making Film)
Added 2025-08-19 12:00:14 +0000 UTCHere's the third and last part of our Maniac deep dive :D where we react to the MV again and take a look at the Making Film for the first time.
Before anything, we'd like to say that this making film was probably one of the best we've seen from any group ever. Very in depth, very informative, very funny, and very SKZ.
It was a nice way to wrap this section of the album up, especially since we got to revisit the MV and talk about the narrative, our favourite scenes, and other details we couldn't really talk about when we reacted to the track for the first time :)
Sometimes, it's just great to be able to talk about everything outside the music itself, and this was exactly what we did in this vid.

2025-08-21 04:06:33 +0000 UTCThe making films are so good. BIBI GUNS?! WHAT IN THE WORLD. Chan definitely rocked this blue hair. But the blue and the yellow makes me think of Coraline every time I absolutely, love the colorful outfits in this video. The scene with the boys in the wires is right before the final chorus where Felix is slowly sang maniac. And then right before Chan says you cannot stop with this feeling. And he hits his high note. What is vj? And vj speacial force? Yes, the light was the CGI brain. I.N's voice when he gives up is so freaking cute. Ooh, that does look like a really cool escape room. I finally got to experience an escape room maybe 3 months back, and it was so much fun. We didn't complete it, but it was really fun. The way Lee Know's eyes got big and started blinking so quickly when he saw that, somebody made a mistake was so cute. My sweet baby quoka was so sick during this. Oh actually, I don't think I realized that lino was messing with a blue screen poster. Now I got to see what was on the poster that he was hanging up. Lee Know's face when he's trying to hold back laughter is so funny.

This is still one of my fav eras for SKZ ... and as always makes me sad for Felix's back and Han not feeling well ... but you would never know any of that was going on or about to happen by just watching the MV. They do cut to the other members flying quickly a couple of times mainly at the end when the track slows down (where maniac is repeated slowly before the last drop) most notably Hyunjin flying looking at his watch with the subway in the back and a pizza floating in front of him ... followed by Lee Know flying towards Han, again the subway is behind him and a mountain bike is to the side ... then they cut to a zoomed out shot with everyone in it ... so you can see all the members on the wires and the ones below. I believe all the items flying around the glowing brain represent all the things on our mind .. so communting, food, and just random distractions. Your right, they often recycle one of the looks from their MVs for Studio Choom and other promotions. it is always interesting to see which look they go for.
