We realllllly loved this one :D It hit all the right spots in all the right ways, and we just enjoyed the heck out of the way it went. The verses were perfectly sang and rapped; the chorus line with The8 was near perfect in every way; the inst had enough spice to it to make it stand out; and of course, this wasn't (again) the genre we expected XD
Before we get to the album's highlight, Love Letter, we got a few subunit-ified tracks from past albums to check out, so please share them links! And once we're done, we'll be able to share which track was our favourite from this album, and move on to the next! :)

Drift away is one of the songs that was made on Debut Project. The original singers are a little different. No Fun is also like that. I think there is one more song on the Teenage album from that show. This song is a fan fave and seems to be a fave of SVT too. Been around from the beginning. *The other song you already saw was OMG

2025-08-16 18:40:55 +0000 UTCDrift Away is sadly kinda forgotten among this album as it's a more laid-back track and people tend to go for Still Lonely or Popular Song as their favorite but I personally really like it ! I love the lyrics and the slightly sad and nostalgic vibe. For the unit tracks, the only performance of Vocal Unit's Adore U is indeed the GDA one. However they did use the Perf. Unit's Shining Diamond as their intro song at their first Kcon appearance (https://youtu.be/-40E-d4J-sM?si=PWYs-EdWwYHiMDls). It's not the whole song but it doesn't really matter since that remix is 100% dance-focused anyway. As for Man.Sae they performed it a few times actually : during one of their Japan Arena tour (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rfgyCI6Y4vrZLX9tJLX4nY2us-Ioe8a7/view?pli=1) and on the same Vlive as the Popular Song performance you guys reacted to. Oh, and since you guys have been checking out their discography one by one, my love for their older songs have been rekindled 🩵 I swear Say Yes was playing in my head a lot this past week. I cant find performance/live stage links for the subunit songs 😭 (have they actually performed those?? fellow carats i leave it up to u) but the lyric videos are in the seventeenlyrics channel at least, except for Shining Diamond PFU ver. 2025-08-16 13:05:56 +0000 UTCWhen D'some said "my favorite will be The8 either way" I know he meant in the song but I have a running bet with myself that The8 will eventually become a part of D'some's bias line since you guys watched Game Caterers. I haven't been able to guess who will be Han-C's though I think I'm seeing him leaning towards DK more and more during Going Seventeen so we'll see! As for the unit covers of the previous tracks, since you already checked out a version of the Vocal Unit's Adore U I don't think you'll find a better video, and the rest of the tracks, they never really performed those versions officially (to my knowledge) BUT there is a video from the 2017 Golden Disk Awards where they each performed about a minute from those tracks (except the Performance Unit's Shining Diamonds, which they didn't do. They did a PFU version of Chuck instead) and another minute of Pretty U, which you could react to to sort of close the album reaction if you wanted to? It's really good! For me, he brought a brightness to this song, as if saying that it’s okay when things in life feel like they’re drifting away. Because the others have been singing and rapping in a more moody way, sort of conveying restlessness and worry. Then comes The8 with that brightness and warmth, and all is well in this world. That is how I feel whenever I listen to this song, so I hope that makes sense. For the unit tracks, I’m hoping that someone would be able to give links to live performances cos I have never seen any. So I’m curious as well. The hiphop unit version of Mansae is one of my favorites of this album. The song is completely different from the original Mansae so be prepared to get another surprise on the direction their taking to reinterpret Mansae 😄 Edit: I’ve just remembered I’ve seen hiphop unit performed Mansae in a concert but it was yet again a different version of it (along with vocal unit and performence unit version of Mansae).
